Thumbs up The Fit & Eibach

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I dropped off my Fit at the Eibach Springs facility this morning for R&D purposes. They are gonna take some measurements and work on getting a set of Sportlines and Pro-Kits made for our cars.

From what I gathered based on the market and number of Fits coming in they will then begin to look at making shocks/sway bars as well. I will make sure to keep everyone updated as I gather more info.

update:

got my car back yesterday with lowered heat set stock springs. The sportline drop will be 1.5" and the pro-kit will be around 1".

as far as spring rates it's still too early to tell. they want people to be able to use their springs with stock shocks so look for a 20-30% increase of the stock spring rates. I believe they will also be progressive rates like other Eibach springs which will give a good ride at low speeds but increase when pushed harder. I know that you can order different spring rates for different applications though.

they will have some prototypeS ready in a few weeks and I'll let everyone know how they feel.

I also have some pictures of the car lowered at the Sportline (1.5") level. I'll try to get them up later today.

nice... hows it ride?
i was considering waiting for a full coilover setup but if eibach is making the spring so there "stock shock friendly" i might have to bust out the $$$ for them.

well i'm riding on lowered stock springs right now. But the lowered center of gravity is noticeable in turns. I'll get the prototypes in a few weeks and once I ride on those i'll let you know.

the pics are on my friends camera. Right now there is about a one (1) finger gap which looks great even on the stock 14" steelies.

That's almost perfect for what I want... Rid the gap but not the ground clearance. Keep us posted!

ok here are some better pics:

Side shot

rear 3/4 shot

front wheel

rear wheel

the gap looks slightly larger due to the camera being tilted slightly upward in the pictures.

Could you take a picture under the front of the car showing the angle of the LCA's on a level surface?

I have a feeling lowering the car that much without stiffening the springs accordingly is going to f up the camber curve.

Pro-Kit will be around a 1" drop.

Sportlines will be around 1.5". Once I get exact numbers I will post them up.
