adjustable rear beam angles
adjustable rear beam angles
Hey guys,
I am a Yaris owner, but i frequently read suspension/racing threads here. The cars are VERY similiar in their suspension design so i hang out here to learn and get ideas. I recently started using 6kg rear springs from a Fit on my Yaris that i got from A&J racing.
Anyways, there was a discovery made on YarisWorld. If you look at the front bolt on the rear beam, there is a second hole above it. This is important because as the angle of the beam changes, toe and camber change as well. So when stock, the beam sits at approximately 35*. now when you lower it, it may be at about 15*. This increases toe in and makes the back harder to get around. So there is a second hole, provided from the factory by toyota, about an inch above the hole that the front of the beam attaches to. If the car is lowered, and you move the front of the beam up to the upper holes, the angle of the beam is near stock angle. What is the advantage of this? Well, the beam moves up and down like it was intended to (with changes in toe!) as if it were at the stock height.
So here are some pics, these are not mine. i thought maybe you guys may have this second hole as well. From what we heard, this was provided by toyota for the sport model, the TS, which we dont get. Anyways, maybe this is helpful, maybe its pointless haha
