***HELP*** I wanna GO LOWER....

So i installed coilovers( no idea what brand) that i bought off a fellow FFer. Install wend great and i am maxed out the lowest in the rear tuckin tire=perfect. Then tje front i went as low as i could but the swaybar endlink bracket stops me from going as low as i want. Is there a solution with this setup? Adjustable endlinks ? Or i could possibly shave the bracket??? I just dont kno and need some advice. THANKS.
Here is a pic of the coilover setup. Right now on the car the black bracket is touching the locking rings for springrate.

T1R B-52s? If you are gonna go max low you can remove the lower lock ring, you won't need it anyway. That should buy you another quarter to half inch I would guess. I wouldn't recommend shaving the sway bar link tab, you don't want that thing breaking under stress. There are a couple of companies that sell adjustable endlinks, folks on here seem to like the Powergrid brand. HTH

Matt, the always helpful LOL No front swaybar at all would be SCARY if you weren't ready for it. I'm actually trying to think of what it would do now, Understeer like crazy most likely.....

My front swaybar is disconnected. It has been that way for like 2 years. It's fine.

Sway bars limit traction at the wheels they're attached to. That's the most important thing to understand. Please re-read that to let it sink in.

So now you're asking "Why limit traction?" Well, if you have a sway bar on the rear of the car in a turn you limit the grip and promote the car to rotate as it very VERY slightly wants to skid. That's limiting traction. The same goes for the front.

Thinking in those terms you would NOT want such a huge front bar because that would limit the traction on your drive wheels which are also your turning wheels. You'll experience more understeer than you currently have.

Most people prefer to balance their FWD car out a little by adding a large rear sway bar to counter the tendency to understeer from the factory.

Thank you Matt the always helpful (seriously) What rear bar are you running with no front at all? Do you think that had anything to do with your accident? I know it was raining also, I'm just wondering because since going to the Skunk2 Pro-Cs my car seems to have a LOT less traction in rain than it did before. Primarily in the front, which gets loose at much lower speeds since going to the coils. Tires are the same and the alignment is up to snuff to answer the obvious questions.

no front bar did not cause my accident. my rear tires were completely bald + it was the first rain of the season (all the oils were coming up to the surface of the ground) + that particular strip of highway is notorious for spinouts/accidents. it is a very slick road and in the rain, it's like glass.

The only thing the coilovers could have done is change your spring rate from what it was. there is no magic to coilovers. they are simply adjustable springs. the higher the spring rate, the less traction you will have, on choppy roads.

I would try messing with your shock damping. when i was much higher (the springs were more compressed, theoretically giving me a higher spring rate), i had the shocks clicked about halfway in the adjustment. now that im dumped, my springs are not as stiff as before, so having the shocks at halfway made my car bounce a lot. i have my shocks at the lowest damping setting. rides pretty decent and i dont have that "bounce" that i did before.

When i got in an accident, i was traveling 30-35mph going in a straight line. i just started spinning due to the bald tires and weather conditions. I hydroplaned

Nothing sketchy about no endlinks. While the swaybar does improve handling, it's not going to hurt anything not having one. If you want to go lower just take the endlinks off. I've gone without them for months when mine broke.

My t1r endlinks, at least their first set of endlinks, SUCKED. The pro c ones are a lot better though.

Lol I didn't say they were cool or special. They're just better than the T1R ones I had back when I was on bmax52s.

Thanks for that Sol, I remembered that you hydroplaned but didn't remember that your rear tires were bald. I've been there myself (my Mazda 5 got totalled in similar circumstances) I have the shocks on the Pro-Cs set right in the middle and the ride height is just a touch lower than it was on the Skunk2 springs with stock shocks, like maybe a quarter inch lower. I LOVE the ride quality, the bump absorption is perfect, no impact harshness at all, and I no longer have the rigid feeling that the springs/shocks had. It just seems like the front end breaks away much easier in the wet now. I have no idea what the rear springs rates are on the Pro-Cs but it HAS to be softer than the cut springs I was running. I was thinking of getting a Progress rear bar and seeing how that worked out....
