Hello all - Does anyone have the KW Coilovers on their Fit? Any experiences or opinions, good or bad?

Klunky, noisy, feels like I'm riding in a stage coach. Because of the coil design, they make contact. The strut/shock lack proper compression and rebound.

 

sounds awful. thanks a lot though, these were actually at the top of my list in choices for coilovers (for when i eventually get them)

 

I'm working on a new setup (separate coil springs and struts/shocks) and these are coming out. I have someone making the struts and shocks for me, custom. Possibly, they would then be available for others to enjoy. If so, then I'll start a new thread about it.

 

And you get this information from where? I highly doubt one of the best coilover manufaturers has such a bad kit.

 

Their in my car. THAT'S WHERE I GOT THIS INFO FROM. They are a premium manufacturer, but somebody that designed this kit for them didn't design it specifically for the FIT in my opinion. "I think" they took the parameters from another car and said, "this will work for the Fit". When I called them about the noise coming from the rear and why the coils sat on top of each other, I was told that's the way it was designed.

 

Well, that sure took care of MY interest. The design personnel at KW and K&N Filters, who deal with Honda Fit issues, must be related.

 

I am so beyond frustrated with it. The company I sent my OEM parts to with prepayment are taking their time too. They are suppose to make me shocks and struts. I'm using regular aftermarket springs once they arrive.

 

After riding on my Teins for a few days including a 5 hour drive up northern twisty mountain roads at rediculous speeds. I'd HIGHLY suggest Tein Basic coilovers. does not have any damping adjustment and does not need it. Tein hit the nail right on the head with this setup. Ride is a little rough but not "uncomfortably" so. Handling is absolutely top knotch. I was beating an Integra Type-R with better tires through the twisties in the mountains as well as a Nissa Silvia K's and a Ford Focus SVT, all with suspension work done to them.

I haven't tried any other suspensions for the Fit and I'm not intewrested in trying any. On my beetle I have the complete Eibach Prokit set. (Springs, shocks, sway bars) and my Pulsar GTiR Has the full Nismo adjustable setup and the Fit by far will thrash both cars through the tighter twisties.

Straight aways though... Not so nice.

 

I had the KW V2 coilovers on my MK IV GTI and worked very well, very stiff and doesnt make any sounds at all, dont know about the Fit, i wanted to know as well.

 

KW has a decent reputation overall. I'm just saying that their Fit application sucks balls!
