Does anyone know if these would work - or be a direct replacement for the Fit?

Are the lights in them marker and signal, or just signal?

And finally - can we get them here in the US?

 

yes they will fit. yes they are a direct replacement with some wiring. and please search next time before you post a question. posting a new thread should be a last resort for answers.

 

Yes, you can get them. Search favorite dealers and that should help. There's a thread or two floating around here with all the online dealers you could ask for.

Yes they fit.

You will need to wire them differently then the stock mirrors (obviously).

They are designed to be signal though you could probably wire them to be both if you wanted them to do both.

You can find them here but they're not too common. They usually run around $700 not painted in any USDM colors. Try eBay... there's also some vendor that does usually keep them instock though I forget who it was. Might be ajracing.

 

Thanks for the info - the non-USDM color issue (and the price) are killers - and I think explain why they are not popular here.

I'm not a "modder" - but thought if the JDM mirrors were a clean, easy install - that they would add a lot to the car. I just like side markers/signals I guess.

 

Yeah I've been eyeing them ever since I got my Fit a year ago... but for the money I've never been able to convince myself it was worth it. There's a handfull of guys here who have done it and had them repainted to their colors and it looks awesome. Two that I can come up with on the top of my head are RickGoshDarn and Guinness. Cheapest I've seen them go was around $500. But even at that rate I'd rather get some DC5 side markers and go that route instead.

 

Well, the $700 quoted is right, but the info about non-USDM colours is partially incorrect. If bought brand new, the mirrors will come in any colour you want, as long as it's a colour offered in Japan. But that price doesn't include switch and you'll have to figure out the wiring yourself.

Used mirrors with wiring diagram and switch go for approx $400-500 on ebay, but they are very rare. About 2-3 sets on ebay over the past couple years.

In regards to searching, andy combination of JDM, Mirrors, Signal, LED would have worked.

 

haha i am FAR from the forum police. its just ive seen numerous threads about them. i was just reading a thread today about the jdm mirrors and thought that if you searched a little harder you would find what you are looking for. also, a call to someplace that sells jdm goodies would help a million times more seeing as there are only a handful of people on this forum that have done the conversion. good luck with your search though

 

If you want side markers in the mirrors, maybe try mirrors from a 06+ Civic Hybrid. They look like they have the same base as the fit, just the top half is different. They have built in sidemarkers and actually look very similar to the Fits. Oh, and they are cheap compared to JDM.

 

these JAZZ mirrors come up on UK ebay (ebay.co.uk) all the time...

the Jazz 's are always being breaking on ebay - i think worth emailing the sellers if they have any.

last time i looked they were going for about £50 ($100) to BUy it now, but i have previously seen them go for about £10 in auction before

you just need to find a seller that is willing to post to US

however, i think the only differences between a UK and JDM mirror is the folding function and defrost.

 

I was browsing the UK Ebay, and they do have power folding mirrors for about $160(each).

The mounting bases are different. The mirrors also appear to be bigger. I think the Fits mirrors are big enough, going bigger would make it look goofy.
Also, the mirrors are around $200-$250 a piece from Honda (color matched in colors not offered in the Fit).

Getting the real deal isnt all that much more. Its roughly the same price.

And you wont have to retro fit them onto the car. Plus, they dont power fold.

 

other than the mirrors, do i need to order any other parts to fit those mirrors?

 

Ill bet those are OEM replicas. Itll still give you the look and what not. Im sure they folding motors will die out quick.
