Sloshing....

Hi there . I am new to this forum and I read briefly that someone had posted something like this already but I couldnt find it...which promted me to write this new post. I recently bought a 2008 fit sport stylz with only 29 thousand km. Everytime I start my car or accelerate I hear a loud sound of water ( it seems) . When I bought the car they did absolutley everything . I am wondering if I should take it in and get them to look at it or if it is infact the gas I am hearing. I hear it when my tank is full and even when it is empty. Gets louder when full however. I also dont know if its the climate I live in. I live in Calgary Alberta and its freezing here. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance

nothing to worry about, it's just the gas sloshing around in the tank. you're sitting right above it so you'll hear it from time to time. next time you fill up, sit in the cabin with the windows up. you'll find out just how audible the gas tank can get.

word of advice, crank up your music if you don't want to hear it

Yes it is just your gas tank sloushing around. Most of us just turn up the radio so we don't hear it. LOL!

Thank you so much for your reply. I was reading some other forums regarding this and they had mentioned that the noise be faint and shouldnt be happening often. Is it still the gas even if its not faint and it happens almost all the time ?

I am forsure gonna install my sirius now ........and listen super loud

If it's just sloshing it's probably your gas tank. Perhaps colder weather causes the noise to be louder or something. If it sounds more like trickling and varies with engine speed then you may need to bleed your coolant.

Its louder in the Fit because the gas tank is located up front, under the front seats, compared to most cars that have it in the back. Thats what allows out rear seats to fold completely flat.
