That is actually normal, the car does not have a lot of noise dampening material so it will be easier to hear more noises. I hear the same thing with my fit and I dont think that it is abnormal, because the gas will slosh around in a tank its just easier to hear with our cars because the tank is right underneith the front driver and passenger seats.

You're not having issues, every Fit does that. All new Fit owners seem to go through the "OMG, I can hear the gas slosh phase."; it's a fact of Fit life. Only fix is to get used to it, cause no one's doin' anything about it anytime soon. Also, it only does it when the tank is at certain levels, so it's not like you're gonna hear it all the time. I don't even pay attention to it anymore as do most owners.

I hear the gas every time I go up my drive way or stop hard. It's normal.Honda put the gas tank in the center of the car for better weight balance. If it bother's you,you could alway's buy a exhaust .

As mentioned above, it is a well documented fact from many, many owners of Fits...the sloshing of gas in the tank can, and will, be heard to a higher degree in the passenger compartment. I have a 2007 Fit Sport...always have heard the gas move about in the tank...there is no difference in tank locations between the base Fit and Fit Sport...

It's not a big deal, nothing to worry about but a bit of extra noise in the cabin. Turn up the tunes. If this was a $40k+ vehicle, I'd worry...but for sub $20k...sometin' has got to give.

most Fits do it, your car is ok
It bugged the hell outta me for a bit (and I thought I was the last
person on earth who would get used to it )
...but I did get used to it and now it just adds to the character of this
car. I actually notice it ALL the time driving and stopping and such, but
you just get over it. This car in my opinion has quite a few quirks
like just today my brakes did an odd sound and shudder very rapidly on
three 5mph stops in a parking lot (going really slow) SCARED THE CRAP
OUTTA ME! But I think I remember reading that this is normal and
happens from time to time and its the ABS resetting itself or something
(I will have to look it up again)

Back to the gas thing, you can actually hear it in many cars... it just
happens to be far, far quieter because of the tank location and sound
proofing and the larger baffles in other cars to keep sloshing down.

The Tampa area seems pretty weak for fits. A lot of blue hairs and granolas drive them.

yea unfortunately the tank is beneath the front seats, the tanks should have been designed with baffles which keeps the fluid from sloshing around...but i guess they forgot

What I can't figure out is how I never noticed it before. I've put 3k on this car and today I noticed the slosh for the first time. It was quite noticeable - I could hear it, I could feel it. I have a hard time believing it was doing it all along. Something changed. Maybe the baffles broke off and are floating around in the tank? Guess I'll never know.
