Larger tire size query

Hello,

I have a 2018 Honda Fit Sport with the original 185/55/R16 Firestone tires. They will need replacing soon, and I have access to a BRAND NEW set of tires (Continental ContiPro Contact) in the size 205/55/R16.

Will the added diametre make for scrubbing on turns with my front fender opening? Can I safely install these tires on my car? I am not overly worried about the speed difference - I can monitor using my GPS, and the difference is minimal - according to the various tire size calculators out there, my speedometer will read 4 kmh (2.5 mph) slower at 105 kmh (65 mph). I am worried about fit and function.

Thanks in advance!

Tire Size.

I wouldn't go 205. Widest would be 195.

Go with 195/50/16.

Thanks. I also heard the same from a tire expert at my local shop. I wound up selling the tires.

Cheers,

CJM.
