Pics of Fit with HFP Rims?

Hey everyone. I am looking at getting a Fit, probably white, and possibly getting the optional HFP rims.

Does anyone have any pictures, non-Honda site, that show the rims on the Fit? I want to see "real world" pictures, not the ones Honda shows on their site. I did see a nice Blue Fit with the HFP rims in the "Show your wheels" thread.

Thanks.

The HFP rims and Sports muffler look very custom on the BOM. I actually like the Sports styling better than nearly all of the body kits that I've seen.

If I had it to do all over, I would have ordered and waited for the same, exact Fit.

The more I look at your car, the more I have to wipe up drool! The car looks so HOT the way it is. Nicely done!

I was curious about something with the rims. When you order them from Honda and it says $896 option, do you get to keep the S rims? I mean, probably not but $896 "upgrade" is a lot of money. When I had my del Sol, I bought 17" rims with Kuhmo (sp) tires for $899. What would the rims cost if I purchased them after buying the car?

I had initially included the rims on my purchase order with the dealership. And they even tried to talk me out of it. And after reading on here and having a few months to think about it ( while waiting for the manual to be built) I had them take it off the purchase order. It would have cost over a grand to have them put the wheels on and that didn't include the tires. I ended up buying the wheels from Bernardiparts.com and ordered the tires from Costco. Within a week after I picked up the car, I had Costco install the new tires on the HFP's and swap out the rims (for free). All in all I ended up spending around a grand for rims and tires. And I still have the Sport rims and tires which are for sale, just not in a hurry, since there aren't many Fits around here, yet.

You can get the rims on ebay from a honda dealer for about $600 shipped.
I did! Then you can get some good tires at discout tires direct online, free shipping, got some pirelli pzero nero's for $95 each.

Hey W1ndex, I like those wheels! What size tires are you running on your 17s? I really like these similar motegis:

eBay Motors: 17 Inch Wheels Rims Motegi Racing Gunmetal MR7 4 lug (item 260079090646 end time Jan-29-07 18:05:28 PST)

I just want to make sure they don't rub to bad. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, they are Kumho AST 205/40/17 The reason I got these wheels is because of the fact they are 17's and they only weigh 15lbs. Make sure to get a +40 offset, had some 17's with a +42 offset and they scrubbed a lot. The main reason I got new wheels though was the weight difference, I wouldn't advise getting anything heavier then these. The old wheels killed my performance and gas mileage, went from 36 down to 29-31 with the heavier 17's, now I am back up to 33-35, but I did add a header.

Can anyone confirm that the stockers only weigh 15lbs each? Most of the 16s and 17s I have been looking at, weigh between 20 -25. I don't want my mpg to go down too much.

are you referring to the 14 steel or the 15in alloys? I believe 15# is right from what i've read. 20-25 is sure a heavy wheel. I have 17in gram lights and they weigh 18 pounds. Can't imagine how sluggish 25 pound wheels would feel.

The factory wheel with the tire weights 35.5lbs, so approx 15lbs or so for the factory wheels. I had some Drifz wheels, I think they were 21-23lbs, and my gas mileage after I got those wheels went from 34-37 down to 28-31, didn't like that, so I sold them, and got my current wheels after a bit of research, trust me, unsprung weight on the wheels will hurt your mpg, and your performance.

besides MPG and preformance, higher unsprung weight will also affect the handling and ride quality.

hey, w1ndex. i'm looking at your pic and see that the clearance of your fron wheels to the fender is tight to say the least. what happens when you hit a bump during cornering? doesn't it rub?

When I had the Drifz wheels with a +40 offset, they did scrub occasionally, but it was just touching one of the plastic fasteners holding the inner fender well in place, hasn't worn it at all. I didn't like those so I got my current Motegi's with a +42 offset, since then, I hardly ever scrub. Also, putting the front strut tower bar on helped with the scrubbing too, dunno why.
