JDMchris.com 07-23-2007 06:49 PM

DOH! lol i hate running anything less than a 205 wide tire even on a 6.5" wheel.

Whitehybrid 07-23-2007 08:14 PM

just got it done...its pushing it in the front, no spacers and rolling of the fenders is a must...my fronts so low hitting a bump would rub...i'd probably need gf210's or adjust my camber so my wheels sit in more...its do-able, not so much for DD'ing...

i'll post pics later...

CarDemon 07-23-2007 08:56 PM

Can't wait...I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve...I love that look. It reminds me of that Eurodriven Yakuza look. Goddamn!...

Whitehybrid 07-24-2007 08:59 PM

sorry guys, couldn't get to a pc today or yesterday, ran out of time...i do all my surfing via Wii, and can't upload pics...i'll shoot for tomorrow...

btw...it was raining at the time, so i decided to only throw the fronts on...tested the rears, it was good...only problem running an 8" with a low offset is you poke out past your fender a bit....which isn't a problem if you don't run a spacer, and you camber them in a bit...a 2 inch drop in the front is risky [which i'm running]...pics don't do justice...i'll have them up by thursday...sorry m8's!

LiL Wee FIT 07-24-2007 09:39 PM

Dammit! I was looking forward to this... now I gotta keep waiting :(

CarDemon 07-24-2007 11:53 PM

The anticipation is killing me....; this thread has me hooked and it's potential to put ripples in the pond here on this board.:p

You better not take the wheels off because they rub!!
Leave them on, let them rub away.

its just a test fit of my buddy's OG's with a 3" lip...the wheels i'm getting have the same specs, just a different face...

Don't look at the rear....LMAO...it was raining, and we were in a rush for time, so i just threw it on in the garage to check spacing, and it was cool...took it off and only ran the fronts off the ramps into the driveway...

Heres where the rubbing issue comes in, i was using an 1/8" spacer up front to be carefull with my buddy's wheels...but i could of taken it out easily, and with a fender roll and cambering it in a bit, it would totally work...it doesn't rub on the inside of the well as i said...so its do-able...

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/DSCN0508.jpg

/\ The lighter line is the tread, so coming down on a hard bump at this state it would rub most definately...but doing the mention above steps would prevent most of it...

Whitehybrid 07-26-2007 04:02 PM

Oh btw...scions look funny with our wheels on there...lmao...

LiL Wee FIT 07-26-2007 05:27 PM

Ehh, those wheels are crazy common here in FL. They are nice wheels.
If anything, Id do black. I know thats weird for me to say as Im into weird colors. No one buys the black ones though.

in kansas they aren't that common...and i can get them for DIRT...besides, i've yet to see a fit dumped on some 02's...:D

Raaaaaaaaaay. 07-26-2007 06:01 PM

Yea, thats true. They have some nice wheels. 002, 003, 006, 501. I really like the 003's and 006's. Classy wheels.
Huhhm, 006's in 18's with the black and red lip. OoooOlala!!

CarDemon 07-26-2007 06:16 PM

Just some other treats to tie us over. This VW has stretched tires and special H&R space adapters to add to his look.

Lol my wheels in your sig!, sorry i couldn't let you have more fun:D

CarDemon 07-26-2007 06:37 PM

Whitehybrid! That looks sick...I love that look with the wheel and tire combo bulging out the fenders....the car looks mean and menacing like a pitpull wearing a muzzle.

Yeah!

SPON FIT 07-26-2007 08:18 PM

holy crap batman that looks crazy cool

STTICH 07-26-2007 08:21 PM

not bad :)

untx3 07-26-2007 08:23 PM

whitehybrid.

What is the wheel specs and tire specs you are running. I've been thinking of going 15x8 or 16x8 and want to push as wide as possible without too much fender work.

Looks freakin good dude!

CarDemon 07-26-2007 08:53 PM

I am at a stage now where I can envision what I want. That lowered stance and rims/tires just about flushed with the edge or just about to bulge. It is a nice mean aggressive pit-bulldog stance that screams silently even when the car is in park.

It seems as if suspension tuning for looks is an 'art' and the tedious calculations, trial and error to achieve a certain look will be worth it in the end.

So I may just immediately roll my goddamn fenders, narrow down my choice of desired rims to 1/2 dozen and calculate offsets like crazy to accomodate my future selection of drop spring. I'm leaning towards H&R's and other progressive stiff springs. Just enough of a drop but hopefully it will accommodate my offset of rims.

I got homework to do and alot of reading the numerous threads of my fellow pioneers and trailblazers.

mimpi 07-26-2007 08:57 PM

spec of the wheels?

YazzFlute 07-26-2007 09:14 PM

what size wheels /tires and offset ? lol reading may own me here

Post number one peoples. Theres no series of tire, my guess 45 series.
He did mention he was running a 1/8in spacer up front that wasnt needed.

It can be pulled off easily with fender mods. Our fenders take no effort to roll and cant tell when theyre rolled. Unless you actually to outer fender rolling.

Black-Top 07-27-2007 03:08 AM

its a 15x8 axis old skool with a +25 offset and stretched 195/50/15 yokahama avs es 100s
