195/50 or 205/50 R15

I just bought some of these from Discount Tire Direct in 15x6.5 +38 and I'm wondering what tires I should run? I have a base Fit, so I don't have the option of running stock tires. I'm looking at getting either 195/50 or 205/50. I won't be lowering the car so I'm wondering which will look best at stock height. Thanks.

These are the wheels: Enkei GF1

i dont think u will have a problem running either size if u dont lower ur car but it still might rub if u have a full load not sure. but u should be fine.

Which do you think will look better? I don't want too much wheel well gap, but I also don't want huge sidewalls (like I have now with my 14" steelies).

I guess I should ask for pictures as well. I'd like to see either tire size on stock suspension please.

heh. which will look better? uh are you talking about from when people are behind you or to the side of you.

they both look the same from the side...but from behind you the 205 will look wider .

im running tein s-techs and when i had the 55 series i have about 1 finger gap all around.
when running the 50 series i have about 1 1/2 in the fron tand 2 1/2 in the back.personally i dont want to imagine a 50 series tire on a STOCK height fit, it will be REALLY HIGH.some say its only 5mm difference, but to me it made a huge difference on my lowered fit.

if you are keeping yours stock, keep it within the stock 55 series.

I was actually thinking 195/50 not 55. Would that be way too small? They measure 22.7" compared to 23.4" on the Sport or only 23" on the base. They are cheaper and lighter in that size and I've seen a few people on fitfreak are running them, but the only examples I can find are lowered.

You're awesome! Thanks...that's exactly what I was looking for. How did you like those tires? You used past tense, so I assume you don't have those anymore. Was there a reason you got rid of them?

Accident changed them for me, they are still on the car but this is what I am thinking of going to:

As for the tires they were great, I will use the same tires, they are still good.
AC
PS: This is on Stock Suspension

Hey tread, can you tell me how much those wheels weigh? I was thinking of getting the very same wheels for my Fit, but only if they're lighter than the Fit Sport alloys. And I can't find any weight info online for those wheels anywhere. Can you please weigh one for me before you mount tires?

I had the same problem...couldn't find any info anywhere. The best I can tell you right now is that UPS claimed the weight of the box (with two wheels) was 37 lbs. If you subtract out a couple of pounds for all of the packaging, that gives you maybe 17.5 lbs per wheel. I don't have a scale at home, but I'll bring a wheel with me to work tomorrow and give you the exact weight.

What size tires are you going to run? I still haven't decided which ones to go with...I'm leaning toward the 205/50's, but I'm afraid they might rub.

Thanks for the reply. I'll wait for your info on the exact weight -- I appreciate you doing that! If it's even close to the stock weight, I might go for it. If I get these wheels I'll use the stock Fit Sport wheels for autocross tires (the GF1's wouldn't be legal because they are wider and a different offset). I'm hoping to fit 205/50 autocross tires on the stock wheels. I doubt you'll have a problem with that size on the GF1's because the offset will push the wheel out from the suspension a bit.

Alright...finally weighed them and they are lighter than expected. Weighed on a high quality digital scale they are 15.76 lbs. each. Not bad at all.

Awesome! Thanks for doing that. Glad to see they are so light! Those wheels gotta be one of the best bargains going in a 15". There probably isn't anything else that light for the price (~$300/set shipped from tires.com).

Absolutely! After weighing them I'm even more satisfied with the price! You can't beat it...they are great looking wheels too...even better in person!
