Ok, I've got a set of the HFP wheels sitting downstairs and was wondering what you guys would recommend for tires. It sees mostly highway and windy backroads so I'm afraid a summer only tire would pretty much dissolve. I plan on removing them in the winter and putting the stock alloys and tires back on for the bad weather.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm leaning towards a Bridgestone tire....but that's just a personal preference.

 

not sure if they make 205/45/16's but try the GY GS-D3's. i had them
previously on my cooper-s. very nice grip and comfy. not heavy
like S03/RE050 Polepositions.

 

what about Toyo Proxes 4 205/45/16...
not overpriced, has similar ratings as stock dunlops..theyre all-seasons and look stylish tuner-like

rock some 205/45/r16 for the size.

i would say :
federal 595rsr(same compound as azenis rt and stronger sidewalls)
hankook k106(really sticky when they heat up, they never failed me in the canyons)
toyo proxe 4(pretty decent for the price)
bf goodrench g-sport they stuck really well in the summer time


these are all really cheap tires that handle great.
if you wanna fork out the cash then go for the azenis rt615 or the toyo t1r

but i wouldnt do it...because i was really happy with these tires listed above.

When the spring rolls around I'm most likely going with Pirelli Pnero Zero M+S all seasons on my HFP's.

 

I was also checking out the Yoko S-Drive's but I still have a question. I drive a lot of highway to and from work everyday and am looking for something to wrap on the HFP wheels for the summer only. I plan on putting the stock wheels and tires back on the car for winter. I'm somewhat concerned about tread life. I realize that depends on a lot of factors, but would an all season tire last longer then a summer only tire? i.e. the Yoko S-Drive's vs. the Yoko Avids.

I really like the S-Drive's, but I don't want them to dissolve on the highway over a few months. I've checked out tirerack and discounttiredirect and pretty much come up with the same options, all season tires in the 205-45 16 size are pretty limited and i really don't feel like paying $174.00 per tire for Turanza's.
