Quick Question about tires and wheels

I just ordered a set of konig supermesh wheels. 16X7 with a 40mm offset, and the tires i'm looking to get are these Yokohama Parada Spec 2 which are 205/45VR16. i assume the 45 in the tire size means a 45mm offset fitting - does that mean i can't use these tires? are there better tires for around the same price that will fit my newly ordered rims?

thanks, Aaron

the tire size doesn't have to do with the offset of the rim.

205 means the tread is 205mm's wide.

45 means the profile of the tire *the diameter* is 45% of the width *in this case, 205mm*.

z means it's a z rated tire.

r means it's a radial tire.

16 means it's meant for a 16" rim.

This is going to get moved. What Matt said above is right. Those tires are fine.

205/45/16 is the correct size you need. Stick to that size. Also, with a 16in wheel and a 40mm offset youre going to rub. Just letting you know.
Dont get scared and cancel the order. Put them on, drive the car around and listen at where the rubbing is coming from. You may get away with it on stick suspension

Ill try and help you fix the rubbing. PM me afterwards

Yes they do come in 15". Aaron is your car lowered? If not can you take pics of the wheels mounted on your car. I'm thinking of getting the same wheels. And I'd like to see how much of a gap there is without lowering the car. And can you let me know how big of a lip the rim is when you get it.

I'm not the first on this forum to rock these wheels. another member has them in pink on her NHBP. (goes to find picture.) i'm getting them in black. i plan on painting the silver lip either blue or anodized blue. my car is not lowered but i was planning on getting the skunk2 springs. i can't oblige to pictures with them on for about a month because these are going to be my summer wheels, my 15" stockers will be my winter wheels. (i live in chicago)

here this is from the "show me your shoes" thread:

Any idea how heavy those little pink jewels are? I'm hoping they're kind of light, I love the look. Not necessarily pink on my BBP, but silver or hypersilver would be nice.

i'm pretty sure they're in the 12-17 lb. range. don't know the exact number.

DFlickner over at JLB told me that the supermesh are approximately 16-16.5 lbs each. I just ordered a set today in gold. Even though they are kinda heavy, I just couldn't go wrong with $399 shipped. Now I have to get me some tires as well.
