maintaining geometry

what do you have to do to put larger/wider wheels/tires on your car, but still maintain the stock geometry, meaning that the pivot axis still remains at the center line of the tire, as well as keeping correct speedometer readings?

it would seem very easy to mess things up.

i dont know about widening the stance but to correct the geometry of lowering the center of gravity, they have roll center adjuster ball joints for sale.
