widest width on a fit and lowest offset ??'s

planning to get 15x7 but what is the lowest offset you can run? wanting a lil more lip out of the fit! looking at the work equips and if they do make 15x7.5's. . . just really looking at how low of an offset i can get for the fit cause i really want that lip =)

and if anyone has any rims with lips please post some pics and if you have any work equips! thanks soo much i really need the help

Do you want to rub or no?
I ran a 15x7 with a +0mm offset. It rubbed like hell but it fit. ;)

Yes they stuck out a bit. I installed camber bolts up front and gave it some negative camber. Didnt stuff the rubbing completely, it helped.
Rears I was going to add a washer. I removed the wheels before I could.

Which Equips did u want? im running the Axis OG Oldskool. 15x8s! replicas of the Work Equip 03s.

bebop.fey 04-11-2008 07:41 PM

i want the work equips 03. . . whats your offset on the 15x8 and tires? and crazy rubbing and would i need any spacers and fender rolling? thanks

and if the 15x8 rub too much i think i'm koo with even 15x7.5' or just 7

SD_MR_FIT 04-11-2008 08:28 PM

mad fender rolling man....

if you want a low offset with 15x8. heh

195/50/r15 stretch to crap

mimpi 04-11-2008 09:06 PM

if im not mistaken doing my calculation, you can go up to 15x9 on the rear and 15x8 up front. offset.... and super low disk at the back and.........

its really depends on how "hard" you want to fit these or u want a no scrubbing fitment like others.

Anything with a offset of 35mm offset and lower on a lowered Fit will rub.
And thats only in 15's. 16's are around a 40mm offset.

15x8 25 offset. 195/50's stretched!

is 15x8's pushing in? or just stick with 15x7's and how much of a lip would i have with 36 offset?

15x8? Pushing it is an understatement.

JDMchris.com 04-12-2008 02:17 PM

lip also depends on the brand/style of wheel you buy, You can get TE37s with 0 offset and have NO lip... but the rake of the spokes is sick. You can get sportmax with 0 offset and have like a 3 inch lip. it all depends... you WILL rub like crazy tho.

I have 15by7 with 35 offset and rub on dips or fast turns on the rear. Not so much up front.

I have 2008 Fit sport with stock suspension.

With only me in car. Just on the streets.

15x8 with +36 offset
225/50-15 Race tires (Kumho V710)
No rubbing front or rear

15x8 with +36 offset
205/50-15 Race tires

15x7s front and rear @ 17" offset

No rubbing front and rear after fender rolling but the rear rubs with people in the back.

I said a lowered Fit. And lower offset than 35mm.
Its only 1mm but you still arent lowered. ;)

mahout 04-13-2008 04:49 PM

If you lower, 45 mm minimum, and 42 mm if you don't, on wheels up to 17" and 205 section tires with 23.5" diameter.
Unless I missread my Kumho specs I have severe doubts about running 225/50x15 V-710's on 36 mm offset 15x8 wheels. Whether lowered or not. Without rubbing.

bebop.fey 04-16-2008 07:53 AM

i think imma go 15x7 or 7.5 by 35 or 32 offset and run with 195 tires

mahout 04-16-2008 04:32 PM

[quote think imma go 15x7 or 7.5 by 35 or 32 offset and run with 195 tires[/quote]

7" wide wheels with 42 mm offset 'pushes' the wheel out 1.84" at the rim while 7" on a 35 mm offset pushes the rim edge out 2.12". Both tires are 23.5" diameter so height in the wheel well is the same.

Since a 205 tire tread width is about 7.3"" and a 195 tread is about 6.9" that means the tread edge of a 195 tire on a 35 mm offset is pushed out about 2.07" from the hub face while a 205 tread edge on 42 mm offset is pushed out about 2".
Our 205/40x17 0n 42mm offset wheels are sheet of paper close to rubbing; you will be more likely to rub pushed out another .070" (ca 1/16" +). Only manufacturing tolerance variations may help - or hurt - your chances.
At 32 mm offset you are virtually certain to rub, stock or lowered.
With a 195/55x15 tire we recommend you get wheels with 42 mm offset if you stay stock ride height, or 45 mm if you lower.
Good luck.

Before you get too excited, the Kumho V710's are undersized from a standard 225/50x16. Kumho data says the tire is 23.7" in diameter (stock 185/55x16's are 24") instead of the common 225/50x15tire having a diameter of 23.85". On an 09 that works even with an offset nearly 3/4" further outbound and rim edge outbound 0.8". On an 08 it doesn't. However, adding nearly 3/4" offset to wheel bearing loads is a little risky.
Its that close.
The extra weight of the 225/50x15 tire is not beneficial. The 205/50x15's on 42 mm offset wheels are still the choice.
