Forgot the name of the tire, but its the same size as stock, and its all season tires, but it looks somewhat like winter tires.

Yeah, I'm with Matt on this one. Drive em till the belts make sparks on the road at night is my motto! LOL JFWY You must drive like a freakin madman to do that to the tires in only 17,000 miles. I've got 28,000 on mine and the fronts look just like yours did. The rears are damn near new because I haven't been rotating them like i should have Do-oh!

lol im not sure, but i do acelerate hard/high. around where i live, you come off a side road, theres rocks on the side of the main road and its a 50 sped limit. i accelerate hard off of it and i hear some weird noise when i push hard. i dont hear squeals tho. so maybe thats it. but hey, thats what i said to myself and smiled, i drive like a mad man or wanna be racer in other words lol

So how are the new ones holding up? I put the Nitto Neo-Gens on mine about ten weeks ago and they are fabulous! Hopefully they will last because they are great tires.

the new tires are GREAT, i noticed i dont skip as much and i hear the rocks alot less, so that must mean im gettin better traction, and as a result, a more efficient take off

Over 31K on my OEM tires so far. They are worn but not close to the before picture you posted. I do rotate my tires every time I change the oil, which is about 5K miles.

how are your tires lasting so long?? do they put better tires on the sport? I am on a base at around 8500 and my tires are getting ready to get replaced (4/32 all around w/ 2 rotations) it makes me sad

I do mostly city driving, to and from work (~2 miles stop and go). I dont peel out, and i dont really drive hard stop and go (my brakes still look brand new)

I know this is bad as the tires at pep boys are prorated from 30k- 60k miles. They are dunlops on the steel rims. Maybe I just got tires from a bad batch or something... I am hoping pepboys optimo 418 tires hold up better.

Can't say man. How are your driving habits? How are the roads in your area? You keep them properly inflated? Roads around my neighborhood and my daily commute to work are pretty smooth. And on my trips to Colorado a few times a year, all highway and flat. Possible you got a bad batch of tires like you said too...but that being said check if they will replace em under warranty.
