SSR Wheels official wheel weight thread

Hello All,

We often get asked what the exact weight of our wheels are. Honestly, we have some of the weights listed on our site, but not all of them are there. It's not because we want to hide it -- as a matter of fact, we've got all the weight data, but the numbers just weren't input when the site was made. (We're fixing that in the next version).

As a side project, we decided to weigh some of the wheels we had in our warehouse.

Sometimes we are the lightest, sometimes we are not. Either way, its great for our potential customers and existing customers to know where our wheels stand on the topic of weight. But remember, weight is not everything. Sometimes a poorly-made wheel is light but sacrifices rigidity. We make all our wheels with durability as the #1 point of importance, with weight and appearance coming afterward. There is a lot of http://www.ssr-wheels.com/technology/"]R&D[/URL] that goes into making our wheels.

BUT the main purpose of this thread is to give you guys an opportunity to find the weights for any of our wheels that you may be interested in. With that said, any requests???? I need the wheel/size/offset, and I can get you the weight

P.S. The scale reads like this: [ lbs / ounces ] So, when you see 22 0.5, it means the wheel weighs 22 Lbs and 0.5 ounces.

Type-C 18x9.5 +23

Type-F 19x10.5 +15

Werfen GT3 20x9.5 +18

VF1 19x9.5 +0

Type-F 16x6.5 +45

MS1 18x9 +7

The SSR Type F comes with either 10 or 12 spokes. The smaller 15-16 inch wheels look better (more proportionate) to their size with less spokes.

If we had 12 spokes on the smaller wheels, it would be too busy, and the spokes would be too close together.

We would be more than happy to refer a dealer to you that can give a good price

wow, you're right it does look better with 10 spokes for smaller diameter wheels. but i am surprised. i did not know that the smaller ones came with 10spokes and never saw that mentioned anywhere from dealers or your website.

edit: well i guess it is now possible to deduce that the smaller diameter wheels come in 10-spokes on the new hybrid wheels section on your website. but that section was pretty recent and people would have to figure it out by looking at the pictures of cars with the wheels installed. it would probably be a good idea to include the information in writing somewhere for the future. (is it just me or does it kinda look like the gramlights optimise with 10-spokes?)

Here is a Fit with some SBC MS1Rs. Thought i would contribute to the thread.

Great to see some wheel manufacturers actually reaching out to the communities.

We took everyone suggestions and specified on the SSR Type F Specifications/Sizing pages how many spokes each wheel would have.

If you click on "View Sizes/Pricing" for your desired wheel size : SSR Wheels - SSR Type-F, you can see on the top it says what spoke model the wheel is. Either 10 spoke or 12 spoke.

For future references, people can check spoke number on the Type F by checking wheel diameter sizes.

On sponsorships: Anyone is welcome to send their sponsorship request resume. However, with the economy the way it is, sponsorships are very selective and few/far between.
