volk rims for my '08

just wanted to share a few pics of my new rims. only test fitted one since the weather in the northeast is horrible. some rolling/pulling of the fenders will be necessary, as well as a littel camber.

rim/tire specs:
Volk te-37
17 x 7.5 +40 offset
custom powdercoated silver
new work blue valve stems
falken zeix 205/40/17

rims arrived in horrible condition. oversized, fake volk decal. massive curbing on all rims. scratches on the face. and yes, that is the packaging the guy sent them to me in. no padding, covers, extra cardboard as spacers. just rims thrown in a box sliding all over each other.

after a few coats of paint stripper. sorry, no completely stripped pics. about 4 total coats were needed. and alot of scarpping and wire brushing. also some filing and filling of the lip was necesary. only good thing was they were not out of round.

after powdercoating

test fitted

i plan on getting blue volk stickers. only goign to put on the "volk"...not "rays" sticker.
lug nuts are neo-chrome, and the valve stem is blue, so i figured blues stickers will look good.

thanks for the compliments.

lol. thats what im expecting. i wanted to be flush with the fender though. definatly accomplished that. now i just need to roll, slight pull, and at least -1 camber all around.
heres another pic that shows how flush/how much rubbing there would be if i put them on without rolling/camber.

the suspension isnt settled in this pic. it was jsut lowered off the jack and wasnt movied. fender gap shoudl be at least 1/2" smaller.

and thank you everyone!

and just a heads up, this stuff works amaxing to take paint off. cut through 2 layers of paint and 1 layer of powdercoating like nothing. using this it only took 3-4 hours to get the rims to bare metal inside and out.

just an update.
installed the rims last week. did not need a camber kit in the back. it rubbed significanlty on at high speeds over bumps. i cut off the bumper screw that goes into the quarter panel, a little of the buper support bracket, and 99.9% of teh rubbing is gone.

the front i added 1 set of camber bolts, set them to about .75 degress of camber and i have slight rubbing. only at 45+ mph when i hit a dip in the road.
im gonna roll the fenders and then get an alignment to the least amount of negative camber i can. im gonna guess that the .75 degrees tha ti have it set to now will leave plenty of room once rolled.

also, i added the volk and rays stickers to the rims.

i might take pics alter this week, depending on the weather.
