Rota Slipstream 16 x 7 (40)

I'm seriously considering these wheels. They go for about $120 a piece and only weigh 14 lbs! A friend of mine told me that sometimes lighter wheels have a tendency to bend easily. Do you think that this wheel is TOO light? I really like them and think the black wheel would look good on my black fit.

actually, they claim 13.5 lbs. They're lightweight track wheels.

And they are nowhere near played out. In fact I have never seen them in person (I go to car shows weekly). At least they are not played out like the konig trouble....

is the offset correct?

yes they are uber played out but not everyone has the $$$ to drop on the real deal. For the price it's a GREAT value considering what you are getting. I haven't heard any complaints about having the wheel bend and cracking. Just stay away from the usual pot holes and curbs and you'll do fine.

good to hear. I'm honestly not worried about them being played out. It would only be a problem if one of my buddies had them or something. But I drive a honda fit, i dont think i need to worry about looking like everyone else.

I actually bought a set for track wheels. I'll probably run them later this summer, but i stuck with the 15x6.5, so i'm still in stock G auto-X.

Dont listen to the ney sayers. Rota makes a great product, my friend has a set of 17" and beats the piss out of them and no bends. Get them and enjoy.

The slipstream is a cast, not forged rim but should be FINE for most situations. (I think if this wheel was failing routinely we would hear about it!) Don't let the "forged only" wheel people scare you. Lots of quality cast wheels out on the street and the track.

found this interesting snipit on HondaAcura forum:

Rota Circuit 8 -Cast -15x6.5- 11.5lbs
Rota Circuit 8 -Cast -16x7- 15.5lbs
Rota Competition -Cast -15x6.5- 16.8lbs
Rota Competition -Cast -16x7- 19.6lbs
Rota N1R -Cast -16x7- 17.7lbs
Rota Retro -Cast -15x6.5- 14.0lbs
Rota Slipstream -Cast -15x6.5- 11.9lbs
Rota Slipstream -Cast -16x7- 13.5lbs
Rota Stage 5 -Cast -15x6.5- 17.6lbs
Rota Stage 5 -Cast -16x7- 20.1lbs
Rota Subzero -Cast -15x6.5- 12.9lbs
Rota Subzero -Cast -16x7- 14.5lbs
Rota Subzero --Cast -17x7- 16.5lbs
Rota Subzero -Cast -17x7.5- 16.9lbs

Konig GT-R -Cast -15x6.5- 16.0lbs
Konig GT-R -Cast -16x7- 17.5lbs
Konig GT-R -Cast -17x7- 19.5lbs
Konig Greenlight -Cast -15x6.5- 12.5lbs
Konig Helium -Cast -15x6.5- 11.0lbs
Konig Imagine -Cast -17x7- 20.7lbs
Konig Imagine -Cast -18x7.5- 23.8lbs
Konig Imagine -Cast -18x8.5- 25.2lbs

***Remeber ROTA makes wheels for KONIG and viceversa !!!

(I'm going with the Heliums)

The slipstream is cool because Spoon is cool.
