Thumbs up HOW TO: 15x9s on a fit and be functional? WORKS! NO MODIFICATION!

Due to the high amount of PM's and posts, I wanted to go ahead and make this public to share the knowledge. Remember I'm sharing with you so if I need to pick your brain in return one day, be generous ^_^

***WARNING: I can give a $h!t less about hellaflush and living the low life. MY FUNCTION > YOUR FORM ***

For all you K swappers who want to put that traction to the ground with light weight 15" wheels and meat!

Here is my latest setup in preparation for the K20A type R. Traction was a big concern of mine so here's my remedy.

Front: 949Racing 6ul 15x9 et+36, Nitto NT-01 225/45/15
Rear: 949Racing 6ul 15x8 et+36, Nitto NT-01 205/50/15

No poke! NO Modification! No Spacers! No rolling!

Between the tires and grip and the new geometry of the staggered setup, the fit feels COMPLETELY different. The nose of my car no longer leads into a turn like every other front wheel drive car. It feels as though the pivot rotational point is exactly where I sit. Like it rotates from the middle. JUST LIKE A MIATA!

I completely understand why the Japanese run this type of setup on all their tuner track cars. wow

I cannot guarantee that it will work for you like that because I only know that it works for my setup. However I will tell you my exact setup.

1. Basically start off the the fender liner trick
"we basically take off your wheel. PUSh up on the fender lining till it tucked itself in...(you will feel it give a good pop) and make sure you take off the clips before you start to push."

2. My alignment is really agressive as this is a track car. the front has -3.0° camber and the rear is at -1.8°.

3. I am on skunk2 Pro C coilovers. NOT hella dumped. Like a very tight 2 finger gap in the front and the rear on the lowest setting resulting in a 2.2 finger gap.

4. I have powergrid custom endlinks. they are 7" long. you can get them from powergrid via phone.

5. not that this matters but I did roll my rear fenders a long time ago to clear my old 16s I had. this might have helped with my current set up. not sure, it looks fine.

Hope this all helps.

thanks chris!

I did order some H&R 10mm hub centric spacers just incase they wouldn't fit. But I didn't have to use them. And the seller on eBay doesn't do returns haha. I'm about to make a for sale thread.. lol.

has anybody noticed the 949s are like the discontinued Volk SE37? it was either the SE37K or SE37A, can't remember which.

nah, those are too narrow looking. eventually every wheel will look like a clone of someone elses wheel lol.

no sir! and I tested it out in a parking lot at first. I noticed i wasn't loosing traction while turning so i gave it more gas. tires got hot, gave more gas, began to feel very sick. I stopped, then went the other way haha. I also went down some back roads (like a child, lol) and tried to put a lot of load on the suspension to see if it would rub under G load. feels great! no rub.

haha my only camera I have is my GoPro. sorry about that. I will take some "normal" shots for you with my gf's camera when she gets back in town. I just washed my fit yesterday so shes all shiny like Cinderella.

No need to ninja edit I dont flame.
I'll be honest, I really dont know much about wheel fitment and what will and might work. I can only answer what I have experienced. I fit the 15x9s in the front with no pull or roll but then again im not hella low. Im guessing you are because its what you like. I cant really say what needs to be done for that to work but "where there's a wallet, there's a way."

BAHAHA i just laughed out loud so hard, because i didnt get away with my ninja edit like i usually do but new from your pictures i know i can run the 15x9 up front, so i assume i can run then in the rear also? im looking at rota k7's 15x9 +36 also! i plan to pull my fenders if i have to, roll at the least, and proabaly run a 195/50 or 195/45 and camber if i need to so i think i will be able to pull it off
