Dealer gave me wrong tires. Avid Envigor vs Ascend?
GAH. So long story short, I was given brand new tires when I bought the car that ended up causing stability problems since they were 195/65/15, and I'm driving an 08 sport which takes the 195/55/15 size.
After going back and forth with these people for like 2 months, I worked it out so I didn't have to pay the total amount because the whole thing was total BS.
I specifically told the guy to order the Yokohama Avid Ascends.
I get there, they confirm what I ordered, and then after waiting for almost 2 hours, I go out and they put the Avid Envigors on there instead.
Anyone know how the difference will specifically affect a fit? I wanted the Ascends as it seemed like they had a longer life and weren't as soft, and had somewhat better grip.
Because at this point I would rather take my money back and deal with my tires than have these people go anywhere near my car again.
At least I have the right size on there now?

The Ascends don't come in 195/55-15 as per Yokohama's page:

As the Envigors go, you can read reviews from Tire Rack:

You don't know much about tires, do you?
The Ascends are an inferior tire to the Envigor in all regards, except MAYBE fuel economy & snow traction (in which case, they're both all-seasons, they'll be mediocre regardless).
The Ascends are rock hard, are LRR and have very little dry grip.
The Envigors are softer, not LRR and from what I've heard, are great for an all-season.
Sources: I have Ascends, dude whose opinions I respect has Envigors.

Well I haven't bought many tires before, but I did research and only wanted the ascends for a slightly better snow traction, slightly better fuel economy, and for the harder rubber that won't wear as quickly as the softer Envigor. But thanks very much for the input because no one I've talked to has had 1st hand info.

I just replaced my set of Envigors on my GD3 back in October. Mine didn't wear evenly and were the loudest tires I've had on the car. They also only lasted about 35k miles.
Prior to that I had the OE Dunlops and a set of replacement Dunlops after that. Both lasted 80k miles plus.
So disappointed there aren't many great high mileage tires out there at the moment. I ended up choosing Firestone this time because of the price.
Good luck with your tires!
