Might Be Moving the Florida

So, I recently put in for a promotion at my job, and the only downside is (if I even get it) it's going to move me clear across the country and land me in either Miami or Palm Beach. I noticed that the crime rate is pretty high in both those cities, and right now I live in one of the safest cities in America. It's made me a little apprehensive. What's the overall perception of Palm Beach and Miami? Any places I should avoid moving to? Where are the best areas? Any other pointers would be appreciated.

*I hate that you can't edit the post title after submitting. moving TO Florida, TO Florida. I proof read everything but that.

It really depends, you can't look at both as a whole. There are different sides to Miami as well as Palm beach, so there are more or less safer areas than others.

But if I were to move across the country, I think I would settle more in palm beach, or any place in broward county (but thats me being biased haha), I in particular live in Miramar and love it

Ha,right.. damn typos... I'd be working at Palm Beach or Miami Airport. I'd be willing to commute about 20 minutes one way, that's pretty much what I do now.

Thanks for the tips 1FiTpINOY , I'll look into broward county.

well i live in palm beach and im literally like 5-10 minutes away from the airport.. come to palm beach man we need fits out here lol. but na like 1fitpinoy said it all depends where exaclty u chose but miami to me is too much but then again ive seen the hialeah side but another factor that comes into roll is whats ur bugdet on living ( house or rent , what can u afford compared to how u wanna be livin) thing of that nature ... u have ur gated communities and stuff like that so all in all its what u can afford ... but there alot of nice and safe places in palm beach just as miami so idk brother

I moved here about a year and a half ago from Canada. I'm on the border of Miami and Coral Gables. There's going to be crime in any big city. I haven't found it particularly 'in your face'. There's obviously certain areas to avoid, and I won't walk by myself at night (I'm a woman btw), but overall it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

The fact that I want to get the heck out of here is another thing...
