OEM Headlight Group Buy

Just checking to see if there is enough interest in a Group Buy for OEM Headlights.

The OEM color matched headlights don't look very good in my opinion. How many people would like to replace their headlights with a set of OEM black headlights to make their Fit look better?

If we can get a group of 15 pairs of headlights sold, we can get them for approximately $320 + Shipping per pair. This is about $180 off of the retail price.

They don't have to be black. We can get any color. If you just want one headlight or need a certain color, post up here.

Here is a pic of how much better the black OEM headlights look than the color-matched. Pic of RickyGD's Fit:

Retail is not $400 from my understanding. Either way, wouldn't you want to save $80?

How would that work? How many Fit owners with black Fits are going to want red headlights or white headlights?

Actually, Bernardi Parts has them for $365 a pair (+ shipping) so that is only saving $45.

Ok...so if you want to save $22.50 per headlight, we can do it. I figured that a lot of people wanted to make their Fits look better, so why not save money. This GB would be done through Bernardi.

Yeah, I still think 45$ is worth saving. Unless I can find somebody to swap with my SSM ones then I am in.

Didn't someone find a way to "open" the lights in a past thread? I could buy a lot of black paint for $320.....

And as far as the fear of durability of paint, I have painted the plastic inside several European headlights (as the grey plastic yellowed with age) in the past without problems. For the last, Bosch units for a Merc 300D, I used "Testors" grey model paint without problems with solar or headlight heat/light breaking down the paint.

Sorry, not to "pirate the thread", but maybe the solution is a bit more simple and less costly? Dunno....

Did he mention what he uses to re-bond the units?

That's 3 people. More people!

Id rather buy them from the factory and not worry about fogging if the sealing isn't done perfectly.

There is that factor too (fogging). I used silicone on the metal/glass European headlights in the past with few problems, but maybe not so with plastic?

I am going to pull the lights when I put in my fogs and remove my front bumper hopefully next weekend.
