If this is a new hood design like the one you had pictured in your mock ups with the scoop that flows with the central lines of the hood im in. I'm not going to pay $450 for a direct replacement just because it's made from carbon.

UPDATE!

Yay we got the hood in! And as you can see we waisted little time. We already started removing the latch to create a new one to fit on the FG and CF versions. And we started preping the hood to create the mold tomorrow for the CF OEM version.

If anybody wants to pre order a CF oem version or fiberglass reverse cowel version (photo on other thread) PM me for a huge deal Ill only give 1 person to each type of the hood!

just out of curiousity. Will a carbon hood be considerably lighter than stock?

Oh yes! I'm not exactly sure, but at least 50% lighter.

Our hoods will also be double sided clear coated so when you open the hood it looks great from that side as well.

The first person to put a pre purchase for a CF OEM hood gets $100 off.

These people that are after you once again are making me a little skeptical if I'm going to receive my finished pics of my carbon mirror covers I paid (as I was promised) for as well as the tracking info that they were shipped by the end of the week (as I was also promised).

Just dropping off an update. Yesterday we prepped the hood for molding and then today we started the mold.

We first put on a few coats of gel coat which mimics the shape and detail of the hood, and then we applied several layers of fiberglass to back the gel goat, and give it strength and make it rigid. All this will assure a great product

The second picture shows the hood with only 2 layers of fiberglass, thats why it looks so thin. After that 4 more layers were applied.
