JDP Rear Diffuser for GD - Gauging Interest
#22
Hes not asking for money, hes just seeing how many people are interested to see if its worth his time.
I assure you this will not end up like iKona. JDP makes some really good quality products and always posts up the molds before he starts making them. He'll listen to you guys and change it if you guys are unsatisfied with it. GE owners didnt like the first diffuser he came up with, we asked for him to enlarge the fins and do some other tweaking and he went back and did it. He's not going to put out a product if you guys dont approve of it first. JDP FTW!

But I want to reiterate - an undertray that covers as much as possible would be MUCH more valuable than some diffuser fins tacked onto a replacement body piece. Something to alleviate the parachute-like qualities of the rear bumper.

Hey you're right - that doesn't look too bad at all. Although it's hard to tell from that picture what's black and what's . . . umm . . . lack. So yeah, removing the rear underspoiler on a sport isn't that daunting, so if an aftermarket piece was in replacement of it, no problems.

Yes!! Completely agree! I would want a functional undertray/diffuser, not a modified rear lip...

If it is possible to do a one off one first so then all of us gets an idea of how it will look. Even if there is no interest (unlikely) in the product you can still sell the only USDM rear diffuser as a rare item. It's a win win situation.

Why don't you guys give John (JDP) some ideas of how you would want the diffuser to look, like I mentioned he won't put it into production if you guys aren't satisfied with how the mold looks.

I'M IN FOR EITHER, visable or not i'll buy one if it keeps most of the air out of my bumper recess, i'll even put down a small deposit!!
edit: i'd rather have a slightly visable one but either is good

Sounds good...definitely in on the development.
I'm finishing up on the GE stuff.
I'll contact a someone you offered their car for me to use to develop this. What I'll do is develop and show prototype and get comments/suggestions.
