I was in for this originally but I don't think there was interest because people didn't want to cut the plastic piece to fit the scoop. I'm still in though, for a standard black plastic piece, no carbon for me.

I was actually leaning away from the need for cutting and just doing a replacement piece for one of the ends. Take a look at the pics of one I'm making for the Yaris (about halfway down the page): R7 Carbon and Cars
A scoop for the GE could be a similar size.

 

This is what I was thinking would be the best solution, just a whole new cowl section with an integrated scoop as part of the mold.

I would be interested if something like this were to develop, then again it wouldn't work on mine because my wipers are not located in the same place as the left-hand drive Fits.

 

This is a great solution. Roughly how much would this piece cost, basing it off a similar design as to what you produced for the yaris (black plastic)?

Would this be functional?

 

It would be functional in the sense that it's only there to draw cool air into the engine bay. Will it attach to anything under the hood, I'm assuming not. No question is a stupid question though.

Jim I just looked at your little site and the work you have done looks really good. So that is exactly what you did for the Yaris, just made a whole new cowl. Like I said, this is what I thought would be the best way to achieve for the GE. And as I said before, my GruppeM intake that I had for my old 5R Teggy had a new cowl section to incorporate the scoop which was actually removable (needed to remove it to open the bonnet).

Unfortunately like I said, I wouldn't be able to use the cowl if you make one since my wipers are not in the same location, but hopefully you do get around to this for the LHD Fit owners that want this piece.

HondaFORlife, more functionality could be made by incorporating a duct/chamber that mates up with the scoop to push air directly onto your filter element if by chance running a short intake or the PRM. That combined with the duct already provided by Honda would definitely get some cool air to the filter to lower AIT.
