GI: 5 LUG conversion HUBS for GE!!

I know there has been some interest in this 5 lug conversion...I spoke with BAUSauto about setting up a group buy for this kit. The kit retails about $800 and it only fits US spec GE. The hubs are not from any platform (ex. itr, rsx). They are completely redesigned hubs for GE fit. IT is 100% bolt on so no need for modifications..

kit will include:
2 Front hubs
OEM wheel Studs(QTY:10)
2 Rear hubs
OEM wheel Studs (QTY:10)
A pair of nut washers (QTY:2)
A pair of rear dust cover (QTY:2)

First 10 people interested will get a discount, priced at $650 shipped anywhere in the US. That is a pretty good deal considering 4-lug hubs run about $200 from honda.

here are some pics from BAUSauto

So. Just a few questions first. Can and if it needs be, will they also sell these parts individually? I'd hate to buy the whole kit down the road for maybe only one hub.

Sound REALLY cool, but replacement parts down the road is my concern.

I spoke to Eric from BAUSauto and he said yes of course they can sell separate parts. Eric w super cool and nice. He's very understanding and was willing to work with us fitfreak members.

Do you need a full payment? Or just partial? I am interested. Put me up on the list.

Also are the wheel studs pre installed? Another question, if the studs are pre installed is it possible to have extended studs installed instead of the oem studs, for an extra price of course. Thanks

James

I'm admitting I know very little about this type of swap, besides knowing i would like this because it would HUGELY increase wheel options, but how is that picture I quoted not modified? And how would we get ours drilled correctly?

any machine shop can redrill the drum cover. its not difficult. unless you can find a 5 lug drum cover.

I don't see how this improves wheel options for the Fit?

Its not like the GE has the ability to fit 17x8/17x9 wheels, properly at least.

is this a serious question? for one you'll find better wheels and offsets in 5x114 and if you wanted to resell the wheel you'll have a better and easier time doing so. not many people want 17inch or bigger wheels in 4x100.

5x114 = cheaper prices and better offsets and 50x easier to find.

where was this thread 3 months ago lol. ):

Once I get the ok from BAUSauto that the kits are packed and ready to be shipped out then we would do the full payment. But first we need to update the list for serious buyers.

About the studs...looks like they are not pre installed cuz it saves space for shipping. I'll double check on the extended studs.

I agree with lilaznphatboy. This Kit is the most direct and cheapest way to convert to 5lug. I would just go get the drum cover redrilled since i'm doing this on a budget. who else is interested? We need couple more ppl on the list to get this sweet deal!

Hello,

Just here to say hello. Thanks OP for putting this together for the members.

To answer some questions, the studs we use are OEM for the highest quality. We do not manufacture studs and have no plans to do so. Any extended studs will need to be purchased on your own =( Sorry about the inconvenience but we cannot offer extended without knowing its quality.

For the 5LUG Drum cover. We actually didn't spend too much time trying to find a 5lug drum that'll fit but I'm sure there's one out there we're just exhausted from the R&D and fitting of the hub right now. This is a 100% brand new 100% original product eventually we'd like to offer disc/caliper combos and 5 lug hub combos but right now we're not ready to do so =(...

No payments will be collected until all 10 people sign up. IF you need it ASAP you can pay the full amount and when we hit 10 (including you) you'll be refunded the difference.
