are all the japan parts compatible with us model??
are all the japan parts compatible with us model??
hey whats up everyone im new to the forum and im new to the honda fit world, but it has really got my attention and im thinking about getting one when they are released..but the only question i have is are all the after market parts from japan compatible with the us model..such as suspension, aero parts, engine..ect..i am aware that there are diff chassis codes but i read that its pretty much just the motor thats diff but im always ready to learn something new..thanks..all replies are appreciated..
Pretty much everything on the US Fit is identical to the Japanese Fit with a few minor exceptions, the headlights, tail lights and more then likely the EGR systems for CA cars. Suspension components for the most part will work, shock and spring assemblies should work without any problems. The only thing im thinging that might not work is say the Cusco OS Front strut bar made for the Japanese Fit cause no one knows yet if there will be any clearence issues in the engine bay.
Also when considering a performance exhaust manifold from Japan, O2 sensor locations usually on Japanese counterpart cars are placed in a different spot in the on the manifold then the US cars and alot of Japanese market cars have 2 O2 sensors, one more either in the secondary manifold.
But anyone who has dealt with a Japanese made car in the US should know that there will always be a few minor issues to be worked out when dealing with Japanese parts that were intended to be put on there market cars not intended to be imported to used on there foreign counterparts.
Also although I dont know this about the Fit yet, most Japanese market cars use a different bulb in there headlights then there US counterpart's, I think this is mainly due to US DOT regulations, usually if the bulb type on the JDM headlights are too strong, they will downgrade it a bit to conform with US DOT reglations. These things aside, most every other part should be interchangable.
If you have something specific that you were looking to import and you wanted to know whether it will fit it or not, just ask and I am sure I can tell you if it will or not.
