chip upgrade for new 2010 Fit
We just got a brand new 2010 Fit and wanted to know if anyone has tried the Gforce performance chip? Does it improve gas mileage? Does it improve horsepower? Will it hurt the new engine? If not Gforce, what should I use?

Its usually a safe bet that you are pissing money away on chip-flashes and it very well could damage the engine.
You would almost certainly be better off getting a throttle controller, sticky tires, better fuel and 7 range spark plugs to start with.
The other thing to consider is most people when they think HP are thinking of torque.
Especially considering the way most of these cars are driven, that is to say purely street use.
Unless you spend most of your time north of 5000rpm you won't really see much benefit to more HP.

I am talking older cars
On my 1989 BMW, I pulled the old chip out with my own hands and replaced it with a performance one several years ago. It advanced the timing and raised the rev limiter a few hundred rpm. I have to use premium now too, but it is well worth in some older electronic fuel injected car.
Not so much in the newer cars

The OP wasn't asking about chips for older cars. He specifically asked about a ripoff-in-a-box resistor for a 2010 Fit. But you are right about some older cars getting a benefit from real chips that were piggy-back mounted to the ECU. I used a JET chip on a 1987 Ford Bronco, and it made a huge difference in increased power and improved gas mileage.
