Problems with Brand new 2013 Fit

Hey

Just picked up my new 2013 Fit Sport. After 50 miles the TPMS light came on and will not go off. I checked tire pressure and it was fine. So it looks like its going back to dealer.

Also I noticed that the Traction control button on the left side of steering wheel does nothing when I push it. Should a light come on the dash to let me know I just turned off the traction control??

Thanks so much!!

I had the same problem with my brand new 2013 Fit sport. The dealer will reset the system and resolve the issue.

Which issue the TPMS? What about the traction control button not doing anything?? When you hit the traction control button should a light come on the dash??

Thanks

You have to push and hold the traction control button.

It will resolve both issues. When the system is working the Traction Control is on by default and when you press and hold the button for a few seconds you will see a dash light the show "Traction Off" or something like that. I though the same thing when my light came on. If you look in the owners manual it shows that when the TPMS light is on that the Traction system will not turn off.

Thanks so much.

So there is no way of me resetting the tpms myself?

I just looked and my bottom dash area was barely attatched also.... Now I know where the rattles were coming from.

TPMS will need to be reset through the dealer's computer.

I had the exact same problem. Must be something up on the Japanese production line that is causing the TPMS system to go wonky. My 2013 Sport AT TPMS light came on about 20 minutes after I drove off the lot. Reset and it's not been a problem since.

I'm sure it's not an issue. Just a plug in and fix dealer kind of thing. Congrats on the new Fit btw!

The same exact thing happened to me, I bought my new Fit and the next day TPMS light on.
Owners manual said bring it into the dealer. Before I did that I brought it over to the repair shop where I have a relationship for over 25 years, I went over to show them the car and then I just happened to mention the TPMS light, I already made an appointment with the dealer for the next day. At my local shop they checked the tires, they were all low, I watched as they inflated the tires to 32lb and also the spare needed air. The computer they have was not updated yet to 2013 so they could not reset computer. Anyway I drove off with the correct pressure and the light was still on. Now the next day when I went to the dealer, where you can not go in the back and watch, they came out and told me the tires were over inflated to 60lb and they corrected it and now the light is off. I know this was BS because the air inflate pump at the shop where we put in air is state of the art and the pressure was exactly 32LB. I know the dealer reset it but for some reason would not admit it. The car salesman told me almost all the customers who buy Fits come back during the same week with the same problem..
