Farewell...very soon!

Hello to all!

I just sold my 2014 GE8 Fit yesterday night. A friend of mine bought it and will be picking it up in about 1-2 weeks.

Really liked this forum and all the information I could get here. A lot of knowledgeable people around!

Hope I also helped people with my contributions and my knowledge of cars, which is good, but not great!

I bought a different car, very comfortable and with a lot of power: a TLX type S. I'm sure I will have fun with that car! But I'm also sure it will cost me much more in maintenance and that it will be less reliable. Hope I won't regret too much...

So thanks everyone and I hope you will have fun with your Fits for many years to come! (I will come back again on the forums for a couple of weeks...)

Finally, here are some pics of my Fit taken last weekend, with the winter wheels.

@Frenzal Sorry to see you go, my friend.

A friend of mine mine just went from a Civic Type R to a TLX Type S. He says the Type S is fun and very comfortable.

My wife's car is an Integra Type S. I was waiting for a Civic Type R (which will might arrive sometime...or not). But then I said to myself that the CTR is almost the same as the ITS. We would have had two of the "same" car. And since I have to drive in traffic to/from my job, and automatic car would be more convenient.

The TLX-S will be the comfortable car. The ITS the sport car. And I still own my AP2 S2000 for top down rides.

I will truly miss my Fit for carrying stuff. Won't miss the harsh ride!

I'd be interested in hearing the reasons to change the car, especially when one praises the old one so much.

Harsh ride. I have back pain, and the Fit is so not comfortable!

I'm also a car enthusiast. I like sport cars, fast cars, powerful cars. I'm at a point in my life where I have enough money to do it comfortably (also, my mom died a year ago).

The Fit was the logic car to buy when I bought it. Normally, I keep my cars for around 20 years. Will have kept the Fit for 11 years this time.

Also, seems like electric cars might be the norm very soon (at least where I live). Don't think we'll be able to buy cars like the Civic Type R or TLX Type S in the near future. Figured it was time to do it if I wanted to.

That doesn't change the fact that the Fit is a great reliable car!

I get where you're coming from. Also the CTR downshifts like a F1 car with that auto rev-matching. Looks really fun.

Thank you for the explanation. You do have good reasons to get a new car!

Had a 00 Civic with an Integra Type R motor swap that I sold in 2019. Used to track that car a couple times every year. Also had a 05 Accord V6 6-speed, that we sold in 2024 to get the ITS. Also tracked the Accord a few times, but car was heavy, so people in regular Civics would pass me! That's why I finally modded the Civic for track use.

Few pics of them all below (noticed that the winter wheels on the Fit were previously on the 00 Civic!).

My Post 2 above was incorrect. What my friend bought was, in fact, an Acura Integra Type S. He likes it.

Always enjoyed your posts. Nice on the new car. I'm saving up for one myself. I'm sticking with Honda and going CR-V. With the Fit being discontinued in the US I expect a lot of people to be moving on from this forum.
