Hi guys I bought a 2010 fit 2 weeks ago and the lady had got it legal in her name and was awaiting the title. I paid her $1000 cash and rest when she gets the title to me. I checked the title status through the DMV and it's went from "still processing" to "title printed" so I was thinking she should have it this week or early next week. So I messaged her and she said that was good then later on she messaged me asking for my address so the dmv could mail me the title which I thought that was odd cause I still owed 500 on it. So I checked Vin with clearvin site and it shows all good on it but has a ! Under liens which im not sure if it means there's a lean on the car or if it means there was one on it at one point in time. We called the lady and she's saying there's no lien on the title. But I dont know if she's BSing me or not. Below is pics of the history report. If some one could clarify. The lien says Aug 19th 2010 and reported by the DMV so surely it dosent have a lien still cause its went through 2 owners since then.

 

One of the previous owners could have taken out a Title Loan against the car. Or used the car as collateral for a loan. Which might put you in a bad spot if this is the case.

 

I got the title today and it was all good. Phew what a relief
