Oil Change Alert!!
Conventional vs. Synthetic Oil.
I never asked because I was so hypnotized with the 50 dollars oil change price deal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Any reason you don’t just change your own oil? Ramps aren’t that pricey…drain pan…… keep an old empty bottle to put the used oil in, easy enough to use on a burn pit, old lawn mower engine or take to a parts store for free disposal. Decent oil and a decent filter in 2026 is going to cost you $35-$40 and 20min of your time.
Funny 50 Dollar Oil Change Story.
Turns out my neighbor who has a Honda Civic knew about this Rohrman Honda Dealer 50 dollar oil change.
I told him about this oil change deal. And he said that's where he gets all his maintenance and work done on his Civic.

Rohrman Honda 50 Dollar Oil Change Update.
Just made an appointment for an oil change for Monday June.1.
They use full synthetic oil.
I'll be going here just for oil changes.
I'll be going to my current local Honda Dealer for the rest of the maintenance.

Rohrman Honda Schaumburg ILL.
Just got back from Rohrman Honda for the 50 dollar oil change.
Very impressive dealership.
Waiting area is spacious.
There were a line of cars pulling in for service.
I waited about 1 hour from the time I got there to when my Fit was done.
Total out the door cost was $57.24.
I'll definitely be back here just for an oil change.
And possibly more maintenance work if the cost is better than my go to Honda Dealer.

Looks like sales tax is 10.25% in Chicago. $50 x 110.25% = $55.13. Where did the other $2.11 come from?
This is a loss-leader (I doubt it's an actual loss, just close to cost) to get customers in the door. They then park the car in a service bay for 15 minutes while they write up a laundry list of "recommended service items" - $150 to replace the air filters, $170 to replace the wiper blades, and OH GODS the brake pads are at 60% wear! Pads, rotors, shoes, drums, fluid flush $1500. Oh and don't forget that $200 headlight adjustment!

Years ago I got a set of used ramps for $10 and I use them for all sorts of jobs, including making it easier to clean underneath the car in the winter.
I buy 5-quart jugs of synthetic oil (meaning every fifth change is "free") for $20-25 each and years ago got a bulk order of PurolatorONE filters on sale for $2.75 each.
It takes me 5 minutes, even being lazy, to put the car on the ramps and pull the drain plug and filter. Then I go do something else for a few hours while the oil drains, followed by another 5-10 minutes to replace the plug/washer + filter and add fresh oil, including a couple minutes spent looking over the suspension components and bottom end of the motor/transmission with a flashlight.
So, maybe 15 minutes and $25 to know exactly what oil and filter were used, that the oil fill amount is correct, that the drain plug was not rounded off, cross-threaded, or over-tightened, and to do a quick look-see under the car. Seems like a better deal than an hour (perhaps much more depending on how far you drove) invested in even a discounted $50 change at the dealership.
I know, I know, you don't work on your own car. That's fine, but you're fooling yourself if you think you're getting some sort of great deal on this or any dealership oil change.
Honda Dealer vs. D.I.Y.
You fix and maintain your Fit the way you want.
I want to let everyone know that this Honda Dealer has a 50 dollar oil change deal.
You Honda Dealer haters stay off my posts.

Fifty dollars bucks?! Now that's a deal! I hate whoever made this sign :P
Why does it matter? If $50 for an oil change is a good deal to someone, then let it be a good deal to them.
This is like manual trans drivers trying to convince auto trans drivers how wrong they are for driving an auto.
