would you trade in your fit for another fit?

We have a ssm sport AT that we have had since 09/06 and absolutly love, but we had orignally wanted a MT so our awesome Honda salesman just called us up to let us know there is a ssm sport MT on it's way. Would you trade in? Has anyone had luck selling a fit for what you owed? and lastly if you were a 2 car family and hubby had a work truck would you consider being a 2 fit family?

Hondas hold their value pretty well, as do cars with this kind of MPG. I can't imagine that you would have any problem selling it independantly if you wanted to....

Yes I would trade for a MT. I don't like AT.

I'd trade in if thats what you want, but I would give the truck up. Seems like trucks are useful, and you probably have it for a reason.

Tough call. I made a concious choice that when I replace my Integra, that the replacement would get me better MPG, hence my Fit. More likely than not, I will be hanging on to this car for a long time. (I had my Integra for 17 years) Only time can tell what it will be traded in or exchanged for at that time (another Fit or whatever the current equivalent at that time is). For all I know I might say to hell with the environment and go buy a Ferarri 575 and blow holes in the Ozone layer. So who knows.

When I worked at Carmax I saw one for sale at a different Carmax store. It had 8000miles on it and was a silver Sport in 5speed. They were selling it for $17 almost 18,000. USED.

I had a buyer from my store look up the history and see how much Carmax gave them as a trade. They gave them MSRP for the car. I bet those people were plenty happy. I was going to transfer it and buy it. I then found out it had over 35 test drives. No thanks, Id rather have a NEW car.

From what Ive noticed at all the Honda dealers around me Fits are not hard to find anymore. Even 5speeds. Each have about 10 at least. Im sure 2-3 are 5speed.

Ive grown really attached to my Fit. Vivian isnt going anywhere.

EDIT
Here, take a look at the prices for these used Fits.

I'd sell my Fit for another Fit that got better gas mileage. I'm only getting about 25 mpg!

When I was in the process of buying my Fit, I saw used Fits for sale with about 12K miles for more than MSRP. However, just because someone was asking that much for one doesn't mean it'll ever sell!

I did that

I traded my bom a/t sport in for manual few weeks ago because i was bored for this nice ssm m/t sport. Amazing how fast a response you get from a dealership when you tell them you are looking for another car.
I can be proud and say i've owned 2 fits in my lifetime.

How did that go? Was it close to an even trade? Payments similar, cheaper?

I lost a bit, but i knew that going in. Figured, why pay for something i didn't see myself driving and enjoying. I'm happy with my choice and my finance rate is 2.9% vs the 6% i think iwas paying before. Plus with the 1k off from honda canada, it didnt make me suffer too bad.

And I myself can be surely proud to say I gave your "old" Honda Fit a really good home.

I'd think that you could get a pretty good trade in, but I'd be very surprised if you didn't lose some. On the other hand the MT msrp is $800 less than the AT, so you could end up reasonably close.

The other thing is I see you've added a lot of extras to your AT. Don't plan on getting much, if any of those $$'s back. I'd see what the dealer can do about a trade in, assuming all stock parts. If it sounds like a good deal, take the extras off and do the trade in, and put the parts on the new car.

You could sell the car yourself too and get more money, but you still won't get many $$ back from the extras you put in.

So I see that many are going from A/T to M/T. Why the change?
