what is the 0-60 for the a/t fit again?
2007 Honda Fit Car Review – Edmunds.com
Because of its approximately 2,500-pound curb weight, the Fit feels light and nimble when cornering. Its light weight also helps acceleration; expect a 0-60-mph sprint to take fewer than 10 seconds for cars with either transmission.
Um, mine is a hair under 12 seconds for 0-60 mph... is that what other people approximate?

a/t sport. I did a very unofficial timing with the timer on my cell phone, but it was high 11s each time. I have a GPS these days, will have to go confirm the ground was flat.

my sti, 4.2.
my mdx, probably somewhere around 8-9.
automatic fits should be able to hit high 9s under the right conditions.
5spd fits should hit be able to hit high 8s low 9s with enough passes.

Did you read my original post? Edmund's claimed less than 10, however mine is just less than 12. The question was, is Edmund's pulling a number out of thin air for the A/T, or is mine a tad slower.
You ever merge onto freeways with 70 mph traffic and short ramps? It can use all the oomph it can muster!
(If I want to go faster, I will jump into my Jetta, and if I want to go faster yet, borrow Dad's Corvette... we own a Geo Metro too...)
ie, should I be examining something, or is that an in-range value for the vehicle.

It's not very fast, but Honda's were never really known for straight-line speed. And I definitely agree, merging onto freeways sucks so much monkey turd. It takes ages and I'm always afraid someone is going to rear-end me.

Xorbe, you got a Monday or Friday car. I personally think mines a Tuesday. To answer your question, it's all about the driver. Why do some people run mid 14's on a S2k while others can run high 13's? Don't blame the car, magazine or whatever, just look in the mirror. If you want to tear up your tranny to get 10's 0-60 on your Fit, be my guess. As long as my Fit gives me good gas mileage and trouble free maintenance, I'm a happy camper.

Merging has never been a problem in my Fit. The biggest issue are those dumb-ass with V8s that wants to go 20mpg until the very last minute. They have to do this because their boats can't negotiate the on-ramp turn any faster without flipping over.

I guess the slower the car the less we have to stop for gas! And yes, I did actually find a picture of a turle racing a chipmunk!

No, I just simply stomp on the gas and start the timer. I guess I'm not using the fancy tricks people use to get that lower time -- but I don't think those techniques really help with the usual driving...
