Popular color rankings/stats (and why are so few getting the orange?)

I bought the Orange/Copperish Sport Honda Fit AT model a month ago. I am curious if anyone knows sales stats by color in the US (and worldwide).

I know that the Fit saw the second largest increase in sales in the US in July 2007 (most likely compared to July 2006?) after the Toyota Prius. I remember reading that they sold around 7,000-7,500 in July 2007 in the US.

What portion of these 7,500 are white, blue, red, gray, black, orange...? Anyone got a clue?

Where I live, the orange is very unique and I get a lot of compliments on the color -- although I presume that some people dislike it and don't say anything :-)

I think b/c the Orange is simply just rare. The sport MT in BOM is hard to find and I'm sure production on the orange is a lot less than let's say silver..

Burnt orange just isn't a very popular car color unless you're a Texas Longhorn fan.

I'm hoping that very few people buy a BOM colored Fit. I love mine and don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry driving one.

i was going to get blaze orange metallic before i got my VBP. My favorite color is blue but orange is very unique. I didn't even test drive the car before i bought it, i literally bought it over the phone lol. But i went in to just to see the car and i saw the VBP and i fell in love. I bet if i saw BOM sitting there, i would have bought that first. It's a nice color tho, u gotta put tint on it and it looks even better.

Maybe it's just that you can see Orange so easily but when i had my bom (now i have ssm) I saw them everywhere and i felt like everyone was getting orange. Plus here, with nissan, mazda and chev all sporting orange, i don't feel orange to be that rare here anyways.

- peg city anyways -

No clue about exact percentages.

Around here, the orange is actually pretty popular. I see a fair amount of them (at least one Fit I see a day is orange). I also see a lot of VBP twins to my car, as well as a lot of MRs. Silver's fairly common, but not as common as the three "brighter" Fit colors. The ones I see fewer of are NBP, TW and LM, in that order. (no wonder the last two were discontinued, I guess - there's a TW in my neighborhood, though)

We only wanted orange and my wife was leaning towards the manual transmission. Took a long time to find an orange MT but then one popped up at a dealer about 7 miles away. We love it.

In northern California there are very few BOM's. I see allot of silver and a few blues. I saw a brand new BOM the other day. I tried to wave and he cut me off

Even with the RSX the BOM is a rare color

Bought BOM demo. Would have preferred the black one. Find this colour a little puke like. But can't really see the colour from the inside. Have seen three BOM Fits in the last week. Waved at a few Fits, one chick gave the finger back. So much for Fit Spirit.

I concur

Don't lose heart, most owners are friendly, that girl was just a putz. I met this girl at a movie store that had an orange fit too and she didn't even care about her fit. I was hurt but i got over it. I think its funny though when you meet people who have a fit and don't even know what its capable of doing.

Not sure on this one. I think the orange is neat looking. It seems to be one of those colors that you either love or hate....there's no in between.

I've seen one orange one running around the area. It's funny that almost everytime I see one, the person driving is either waving or flashing their lights at me. It's kinda like owning a Beetle. Almost like a club or something that we were entered into when we bought the car lol

That is so true. I was with my girlfriend driving around Costco when we spotted another red Fit Sport when the younger girl driving it waved to me and I just waved back cause it is a friendly thing to do.

And my girl asked me if I knew her and I said, "no I just waved cause she waved at me first." I had to explain that people that drive Fits unlike other cars tend to get excited and feel a certain bond of ownership when we see other Fits. She still didn't understand why a car would do so much. LOL.

The BOM was my first choice but on my first trip to the local Honda dealership my salesman told me it would be very hard to locate and would involve putting alot of miles on the car prior to my purchase. I decided not to go with the BOM due to not wanting to wait for months and months. My VBP never showed up but when the MR became available I just fell in love with the car the first time I saw it. Happy I have it cuz it is so sweet! My Fit wasn't even a month old when I parked in the back 40 of the CVS parking lot. I came out to find a Silver Fit parked right beside me. I waited for a few minutes but they did not return. The car is actually the first Fit that I test drove back in March. I loved the car but was not ready to buy until I had tested a few other (Scion A,Yaris,Versa) Once I looked at those - I knew the only thing I would be happy with was a Fit - I even drove a Civic SI because my salesman thought it was a better choice. It just did not give me the same feel for the road as the Fit - this is the first vehicle I have ever purchased that I felt at home behind the wheel within a very short time. It rocks!
