2009 Honda Fit leakage

Autoblog

I am holding off on my fit purchase until these are released in the US. I think in the future I would regret purchasing an 08 with an 09 redesign coming next summer.

Not bad, looks kinda like what would turn out if the Prius and Fit had sex and had a baby. I wonder how much the price will jump? That large sunroof is not a cheap option, and neither is the nav system. Might have to trade up, but if the price closes in to $20K and the mpg isnt much of an improvment (if at all), I'll pass. but thats just me.

All-New 2009 Honda Fit Photos Leaked! (The Torque Report)

I'm not holding my breath that's for sure, I like the way the current fit looks much more and the fit already has everything that I could ever want in a small car. The new steering wheel looks nice, that's about it, that's not enough to justify a ~5k price difference if the new model does come in at $20k.

If it weren't for the headlights, the front would be nice, but the back is freaking ugly. On the other hand, that interior is RIDICULOUSLY upgraded over ours. My goodness the inside is nice. Take the current Fit, and swap in the inside of that one, and it would've been perfect.

seats look nice

instrument cluster is a little busy

there's something Mercedes-like (A-class?) in the profile shot of the silver car (the roof arch and rear lights I think)

Is the "sunroof" a fixed glass panel? It appears to be one piece and there doesn't appear to be enough room behind it for the glass to slide. If that's the case, I'll pass.

The silver car appears to be the base trim and the white and dark (Blackberry Pearl?) cars appear to have a different bumper and side skirts and no tacky rear spoiler. Once again, I think I like the cleaner base look better. The front bumper of the "sport", especially on the lighter (white) car has too many shapes cluttering up the front.

I don't mind that the exterioer is "ugly". All cars that are attention grabbers always appear "ugly." In fact, when I first rsearched small cars, I HATED the fit's exterior, and loved the versa's, But versa's interior (and the fact it was going to be made in MX) turned me off. I stared at the fit longer, and I start to like it. Now I love it.

Same with the first gen xB. I used to wonder why anyone would drive that monstrosity. Now I like it's boxy look.

I think the new design looks GREAT!!!!

Here's my number 1 question: Where will the NA market versions be built? Still in Japan?

My dealer says that the 09 US Fits will be built in the new US Honda plant, i wish they were planning to make them in Japan like before. But ill wait probaly till 2011 or 12 before i get mine, so all the bugs are out!

let's see...if we do get it as a 2009 model, it'll be in showrooms around October 2008 most likely. That gives me one more year to pile on mileage. At the rate I am going, that'd mean my 2007 will have around 80k on the clock.

I am sure the depreciation will be quite bad due to mileage, so I probably wouldn't trade right away. I think the current version is chiseled and looks pretty sharp with the angles. The new one is a lot different, but not really better or worse. That interior is certainly great!

C'mon Honda...Diesel AWD!!!!!!!!!!!

I strongly hope for a clean diesel version. And manual gearbox with a low revving overdrive!!! 4000RPM @ 80mph is silly, esp cuz the gearing allows this tiny engine to reach 100mph too easily.

That steering wheel is the current civic one.

LOL!! I agree!

Looks nice, I guess..but I prefer the current model. The sunroof/moonroof thinger looks nice though! Well, if it IS one. I agree with txmatt though, it does look like a fixed glass panel. I'm glad I didn't miss out on much by waiting for the 2009 model, just my opinion!
