Fit vs. Vette?
We are bought our Fit as a 'city car'. It will rarely see highway use. Performance was certainly not on our list of priorities with this car.
As far as beating a Vette......................not likely...unless you invested the cost of a 'Vette into performance mods in to your Fit.
Scooters, skate boarders and most bicycle riders are probably fair competition. Virtually everything else (with a few exceptions) will smoke you bad.

believe or not.. i hang out on the corvette forurm. 2005 C6 Corvette Information - 2005 Corvette C6 Information - Corvettes for Sale..
why? because I'm contemplating buying one..
why you ask do i hang out on this forum.? because i'm comtemplating buying one..
that's (almost) decribes my wide range of looking at cars.. i also hang out on the northamericanmotoring forum (minis)..
CRXs brought me to honda. I have a old CRX HF i've had since 91.. currently for me the fit is closest. during that time, i've had new BMW M3, custom turbo Datsun 240, Subaru WRX (still have) and 3 sportbikes...
the fit is a great car for its price, the vette (now at 436hp for 2008) is a great car for the price (you can get a new stripper for just under 40k).
So its possible to appreciate both...
But if you beat that guy off the line he was asleep. vette doesn't weigh much more than the fit, and has more than 300+ hp over the fit... and the z06.. well 505hp weighs less than the standard c6.. but there are issues with the valvetrain and more than a few motors have been replaced under warranty....

I agree I don't look at the fit as a drag car either. I got it to fix it up for looks and style only. can't really achieve to much power out of this motor. Unless you dump a whole lotta money into the motor or just go K20 which costs to much to have. =/ but really you do make a point fit isn't a drag car, look at it this way. ITS A SMALLER VERSION OF A MINI VAN.
Probably caught the guy sleeping at the wheel, but seriously the Fit dosn't exactly strike me as a drag machine
On the plus side you probably could have lane-changed his a$$!
"We later confirmed this when the Fit sailed through our lane-change test 6 mph faster than anything else here — faster, in fact, than a Corvette Z06"
