insurance in USA

so there have been a few post about this (not too recent) but....
what are you guys all paying for insurance in the US, most of the other posts are all about other countries .
for me ive tried a few quotes and geico was the cheapest at 1500 for 6months
im a guy and 21 yrs old- plus my credit isnt all that great- my fit is a sport auto 08..
the rate seems about right being around the same (was like 1k for 6 months) that i paid for my old civic ...
any comments on the subject

My parents pay for insurance, and I indireclty pay for it. Our house has a s2000, a new RDX, a civic, MR2, and my fit. My fit's insurance costs the most of all.... I can't figure out why, other than there are no statistics for thsi car, therefore insurance companies play on the safe side by jacking up the price.

I am paying about 560 every 6 mo (currently sporting a 100 deductable),
this works out to being only 60 bucks more per 6 mo than my 01 civic coupe that I had before it, Im obviously paying more cause its new. If this car was as old I would be paying less, and if I switch to a 500 deductable (which I will probably do) Im easily going to go way below what I am paying now per 6 mo. I have a Sport FS, in m/t trim.

I dunno if you need this info but here goes (in case this helps)
Im 27, been driving a tiny bit over 10yrs
Always got good grades discount on insurance
Got good driving discount
Was on family plan for most of those years I havent been recently though
My insurance is State Farm
I always make sure that under profession I put instructor/teacher, even though its only a part of what I do now.

thanks for all your honest answers it makes me feel a bit better haha
prolly makes you all feel better knowing that somone pays more than you..
when i got the car in nov we registered it in my name but since i live at home we were able to put it on my parents policy but im getting "kicked off" and i need to get my own by Jan 1.
it was about 1200 for 6 months for my fit only
we had an aura, cavalier, cabrio, maxima, and my fit so i can only imagine the total bill

I pay about $900 per year. It's my own policy. I've had speeding tickets before and got most of them cleared off. And the policy covers like $100,000/$300,000 on all parties involved in an accident. Plus, I have glass replacement.

Insurance

Hmm. Guess this is an area where it pays to be an old lady. I'm paying $328 per 6 months with $250 deductibles on collision and comprehensive. The new Fit is costing me only $28 more per 6 months than did my 10-year-old Subaru Impreza. I expected insurance on a new car to be close to double, so the cost was a pleasant surprise. All that's left now is to see what exotic premium the county will place on permanent tags for the new Fit.

I pay monthly $96.00 so about $1,100.00 per year. I have a low deductible and all the bells and whistles. I did check with AARP since I am 50 and could have gotten it for around 85.00 per month may consider doing that next year.
