I'm 33, pretty clean record, and I pay about $450/6 mos for comprehensive, $500 ded, and full glass coverage (lots of flying rocks out here). This is about $200 less than my WRX, so I'm happy. Also, I live in a pretty bad part of Phoenix, so I'm sure if I moved further out into the suburbs, it'd go down even further (which I will be doing in early January).

I'm 19, was paying around $500 for an '00 Focus with limited coverage. Got a speeding ticket recently which I'm sure upped my insurance, but full coverage now is in the $700's.

Why not just call you current insurance company (or shop around) and get a quote? You can do that before you purchase the vehicle.

This is the best response. As a 48 state licensed agent for a major insurer who writes auto policies like leaves on a tree, I'll say that there are so many variables that can affect your premium, trying to compare other peoples' rates to get an idea of what you might pay is truly pointless. You can get a good quote online from a number of carriers these days, or even by calling. When I do a quote it takes about 15-20 minutes, other companies are probably similar.

Insurance rates depend on: Location, age, credit history, violations, etc. Asking what other peoples rates are is meaningless. The first thing they will do is run a DMV check on you to check for violations, check to see any claims you have made on your current policy, credit check, bad credit equals higher rates, speeding tickets, DUI's, etc. Just call, have your SSN and policy number and get a quote.

also, beware of getting TOO many quotes in the same timeframe. that negatively affects your credit because every time they give you a quote, they're doing a credit check.

i lost points on my credit score when i got my car because not only was the dealer checking everything, but i went through about 4 or 5 different insurance companies for quotes.
