It's an '07, Man. You should be getting that kind of discount now, even if it had never been wrecked. But it has.
You would be showing serious bad judgement to take the $1K deal just because of the car's color. You have to use your head, not your heart, when buying machinery, which is all a car is.
However, it's your call. I just hope you will make a wise one.
Buying a new car makes little sense in the first place. Financially you are much better off buying a $500 junker. One could also say that buying expensive rims and countless other after-market modifications are bad judgement as well. If all that matters to the buyer is that the car gets them from A to B, then yes color is irrelevent. However if they are like most people here then the right color can be important to them.

You're basically right. Of course the actual best way, speaking strictly financially, is not to buy a "$500 junker" but to buy a good used car, so that you don't have to worry too much about mechanical failures, and to pay cash, so you don't have to keep anything more than liability insurance on it. Unfortunately, most people don't have that kind of cash on hand. I sure as heck don't.

My point is that this might be a good opportunity to get a better deal; to use the wreck to his advantage. For a measly $1000 discount, would you buy a car that you knew had been wrecked? This was not a fender-bender.

Like I said, I just hope the OP won't buy a wrecked (although fixed) car AND pay too much, just because it's white. I have nothing to gain or lose, just trying to help the guy make a wise decision. I think the dealer would take the $15k OTD, and the guy would have a nice new car in the color he wanted. God knows, I could be wrong. Dealers vary a LOT, huh? But I would try it.

Yeah, Going to go with BOM or VBP when the winter is over. CRV is costing me to much a month and gas is a bit high for it. I'm am starting to think like a dad and don't need leather, heated seats and sunroof. This car will get me from point A to point B in a safe way. I'll be banking almost 200.00 a month When i get the fit.
