How do I remove the shift knob?

I just got my Fit and was just looking for something to spruce up my interior. I couldn't find a guide to changing the shift knob anywhere, but it seems like a lot of you have aftermarket ones. How do I do it? Is there a release mechanism, does it just screw off, or what? Thanks!

as said above...it takes a bit of force...not worry bout it though.
you might even hear a little crack or a snapping, it is just the plastic unbinding from the metal dont worry.

I know I have a bad injury, but It took me 5min to get it off, had to use both hands and lean over it. (I soooo shouldnt be driving)

Oh, cool! I have to MT. Nice to hear it's simple to remove. Firebat, where in Simsbury are you? I work at the movie theater in Simsbury so you'll probably see my orange Fit parked in the lot there a lot of the time, at least during college breaks. I'd definitely be up for a CT meet. And hey, my name is Jason too!

Do you ever take your car up to the Barkhamstead reservoir, on that twisty road by Ski Sundown? Really nice road to drive on. Know of any other good driving roads to toss the Fit around on?

Heh, sorry but I wasn't working tonight. I can get people into all the night time shows but generally not the 7pm shows unless the manager is feeling generous. Look for my car if you're there though, I usually park right in front of the theater.

I saw that a guy on Craigslist wanted to start a Fit club, you guys interested?

Let's start a Honda Fit club!

Sunday's better for me, assuming I don't get put on the work schedule that day. Any of you guys know of a nice scenic twisty road to drive on? I'm on college winter break with a new car and nothing to do!
