It does have other additions besides the armrest. Added cup holders, open storage try up front and cupholders, also a cubby to store under the armrest.

The price is due to its size. If it was just an add on armrest of course it would be cheaper. But its one whole piece.

I think its well worth it.

the only thing i'm worried about is that it might interfere with the ability to receive road head.

Yeah I mean it's a good investment for ppl who want all that. I personally don't use cupholders (no one shall drink or eat inside my fit, not even myself), armrest. The extra storage/cubby is nice, but for me, the price is still kind of high. But for those with money, it's not a bad investment. I'm speaking from zero experience since I don't even own a fit yet. So I could be very wrong about the armrest affecting posture and all that jazz I've talk about so far. So you can slap me if I'm completely wrong.

Red face Armrest Needed

Yeah, this is the armrest I need. How they could have made this car without this armrest is unbelievable. It really is needed for any decent drive. Too expensive for me though... needs to be around $150.

It's worth it - if you can afford one buy it.

Japanparts.com: TOKYO GM SHOKAI KK has them also.

The armrest, passenger vanity mirror & the little driver's coinholder should have been standard. Total additional cost to manufacture would be trivial, and I think it would greatly improve the overall appearance of the car's interior.

These cheesy, annoying omissions make the car seem cheap. It's a bad tradeoff IMO.

No mirror on the passenger side? That's standard on every car I've ever seen, how much could that possibly increase Honda profit?

The coinholder? Why isnt that there? It's a snap on piece that costs a few cents? Why would you leave glaring flat plastic plug instead?

Has anybody recieved theirs yet? Im thinking about ordering one soon but want to know how the quality/fit is on our USDM. Since its a Honda JDM product im sure quality isnt a issue but a perfect fit might be. Please let me know.

i ordered mine in 11/07 from Japanparts.com: TOKYO GM SHOKAI KK. ended up paying $341.96 usd. u have to order the console & armrest pad as a separate item.

at the time, everyone else was sold out and didnt want to wait. i missed having an armrest on my previous car...so was willing to pay the price for the added comfort. i got an extended razo shifter so the console doesnt interfere w/ shifting.

Thumbs up

I got mine from Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda already.
My son and I installed it yesterday.
My right arm is now well rested.

Be sure to watch the video on their website before installing. Be careful removing the e-brake cover.
I ended up snapping mine.

EDIT:
Replacing the accessory power socket was also kind of a PITA.

I was concerned about the e-brake cover as well. I ordered the armrest last week and heard I was going to get shipping info on Monday, but still haven't received any notice. I'm wondering if it might help to heat up the e-brake cover before removing it. It's so freakin cold out here in MD, I imagine the plastic cover would be more susceptible to cracking in these colder conditions. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Heat up the e-brake cover or not?

Mine had been in the garage for several days. It was fairly warm. I just pulled the back out by hand and thought maybe I could just keep pulling it out. I should have used a screwdriver to pry the front out. (like they show in the video)

Still... warming it up probably couldn't hurt.
Unless you melt it!

The accessory socket requires lots of patience. My son asked afterwards why we couldn't have just left the metal insert in the old plastic casing and put that in the new console.

Good question. I was just following the video. (after I had just broke something by not) Maybe the hole in the Aussie import is different.

So, you think that you could have left the metal insert in the plastic casing? Maybe I'll send those guys an email about it. I don't have any patience...especially when it's 30 degrees outside. Thanks for the response on the heating idea. I might just try it...

Ermkay..... As previous posters are saying, I also got my center console. Install was straight forward. As said above, the cig socket and that little black clip in panel are a pain.

Trick to the little plastic piece is to pull toward the e-brake to release the first set of clips. Then straight out for the 2nd set. Dont be afraid, PULL IT. (Unless its cold where you live.)

The cig socket. This thing made me mad. Theres 4 tiny plastic nubs holding it in. I tried and tried to push them in from the bottom but no matter what 3 are held in. I finally got fed up and pryed with a flat head fast/hard from up top.
Hahaha, popped up clean and fast. I think I got lucky....

I have no driving time but so far I like it. It will take some getting use to the height because Im already use to 20,000miles on nothing there. I tested shifting and I can keep my arm on the armrest and still shift the gears cleanly. Keep in mind I have a Mugen SS and a T1R tiny shiftknob.

Ill probably do some driving tonight. Pics and a full review tomorrow maybe?

Cool.
How long did it take to install?
