Has your spoon radiator cap broke?

Hey guys,
I bought a spoon radiator cap from jdmland.com a while ago
and the other day i opened my hood and the top part where it
has the spoon logo thats attached to the metal broke off..
i was thinking maybe the hood prop broke it off or idk
has this happened to anyone else?? i figure ill superglue it back on

sucks though....it wasn't cheap!!

This has been a common problem with spoon radiator caps. Superglue might do the trick.

i'm pretty sure that a lot of caps with stick on logos will have similar problems. they are exposed to a lot of heat. the adhesive must give out at some point i guess.

I agree, if I would have known about the adhesive problem I would have invested in a more durable rad. cap. I also had the same problem with my alum. spoon duracon shift knob :[

I would try to find a high heat epoxy to hold it back on, if such a thing exists. Since its so close to the hood gap at the front theres a chance water would get in ther and dilute the super glue over time.

I guess me and stick on logos don't mix well but it's funny that you mentioned EP3 b/c I use to own one as well! I heard of a couple ep owners trading their ep's in for fits, but I didn't realize there are more than I expected!

yea mine fell off also but i just put some high heat spray on adhesive on the back of it and put a brick over the cap so the adhesive stuck evenly.

*Note to self; never check water in your Fit if you have a Spoon radiator cap.*

i cleaned the surface of the knob where the sticker goes with rubbing alcohol get any dirt or oil from my hands off before i put the h-pattern sticker on. i don't know if that had anything to do with it.

i had an EP3, and i loved it! i sold it to afford an engagement ring and bought a cheaper used car. the used car turned out to be not what i was expecting and wasn't worth the savings in money. so i bought a new Fit. now my fiance and i both drive Fits.

do those caps actually do anything?

why not just get a sticker and just put it over your stock caps? or leave it stock.

haha totally visible horsepower! but in the sense that it makes your car look fast when its standing still. i wasnt too bummed about my radiator cap broke seeing as i got it for free. and it was easy to fix.
