I voted to stay with the 2007. If it aint broke, why fix it so to speak. Unless your wallet is sweating for the need to upgrade, there really is no reason...

I have to agree with '07. I really think the '07 is a home run, and the next gen misses the mark lookswise in the headlights and hood. The rest of the car is nice, but not for me. Actually, after seeing pics of the Opel Meriva concept on Autoblog, which may come here as a Saturn competitor to the Fit, I think the Meriva looks more like what the second gen Fit should have been.

So, I'm keeping my '07 auto, and if only I could get the coin together to get a manual '08 too.

My vote's for the 07. I thought about holding off on my 08 and getting a 09... but i considered two things:

1. the 08 generation has been out for a while in other countries (since '01 i think) so most of the kinks have been worked out.

2. Despite the interior features of the 09, the exterior is lackluster and somewhat attractive RS trim will probably demand a higher $$$ that throws it out of the "econo car" league.

Im pretty sure it wont go up by more then 1000$. That would put a Fit RS at 17,500$. Not bad at all, and still a economy car price.

I think the current version of the Fit looks better overall. From what I've seen of the 09 Fit pics, the outside looks good, but the redesigned dash doesn't do it for me. The IP looks like it wants to emulate Scion to an extent. It might have more power than the current Fit, but I think I'll be happy with mine.

I better be; I'll be paying for it for a long time....

I do believe the forum is going to grow drasticly this year do to the 09's. Its gonna be kinda scary seeing something else besides what were used to...lol

Wanted to know, what makes the 07 Fit a fan favorite over the 08?

I'm debating an 07 Sport sitting on the lot of a dealer and it has 144miles/240kms on it. The price is pretty good considering they want to make room for more 08's.

Then there's the dilemma of getting an 09, but that goes against the whole thing about "never buy a first year model".

I hate buying a car.

it's the original!!! haha, really they're the same car. the big debate is over the '09 and how it'll compare to the current model.

^^He is correct! Our Fit has been on sale in other parts of the world since 2001. Also, the main difference between the 07s and 08s is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System that has been mandated by the Feds starting on all 2008 model cars.

Good luck with your decision making, kuba!

Why I will wait on the 2009 Fit !

I looked at the 2008 Fit and I liked it much better than the Yaris or Versa. My wife thought the Yaris was just too small and the Versa is too dull. Driving a big Ford F-150 SuperCab to work each day (about 30 mile round trip) just does not make sense.

But I will try to hold on through $3.00+ per gallon gas to wait for the 2009 Fit since it is...

A second-generation model, much improved GDM "RS" styling, a Sky Roof option and a tilt and telescoping steering column. The 2009 US Fit is closer to the JDM and Euro model ?

The 2009 is slightly longer and wider than previous model (only a few cm's)

Midsize interior with versatile seating, cargo configurations (can it get even better?)

A more powerful new engine!

Standard vehicle stability technology and side curtain air bags

A U.S. launch in Summer/Fall 2008 (October 2008 ?). The 2009 Honda Fit will make it US debut at the New York International Auto Show "NYIAS" March 2008 21-30th or so!

The Fit is GO !!!
Seat improvements (driver’s-seat height adjustment, bigger seats with improved headrests, more cushion)
