Does 2008 Honda fits sport come with security system?

I've had mine and tap everywhere in the car to check if the alarm will go but nothing. I thought that the security system is standard on Sport models? I had toyota before with factory alarm and when I use a quarter to tap the window, the alarm always goes off. Same thing with my accord, the alarm goes off when I bump the car, tap on the window or slam the door handle. The fit seems not to perform this feature.

I don't think it has a shock sensor. It goes off if a door opens...

All Sport model do come standard with a "Security System". I belive you have to do alot to get it to go off. Im not sure what exactly you have to do. Im sure someone knows here.

when a door/hood/trunk pin is released the alarm goes off
gas door is not armed
no shock sensor or window sensor
lock the car with one press and its locked- wait a few secs and its armed
press 2ce and get a horn - thats all the second one does just lets you hear its locked it doesnt arm anything extra

Okay thanks for the response, I'm disappointed with the factory alarm. I want it to be more sensitive like the cars that I used to have. Also I notice that the car locks itself when you step out the vehicle and close the door by pressing the lock button first then when it is locked, press unlock then wait for about 20sec then the car will lock itself. This is another part of the security system that is disappointing, when you step on the car and did not press the lock button... the car will not lock itself. You have to press lock then unlock, so the car will lock automatically. Is there a way to fix this?

it autolocks after 30 seconds. if you open a door within 30 seconds after unlocking it then it wont autolock

My question would be: who wants a sensitive alarm system that goes off when your car is not in danger and annoys neighbors when you are trying to sleep or something? I'm sure Honda's system suffices.

The Fit also comes with an immobilizer, so if you're just worried about your car getting stolen or hot-wired, it's fairly secure.

Ah, the good old days, or maybe just where I used to live. A big truck/loud car would drive by setting off all the car alarms on the block. Niiiice.

That would be me, who would want an alarm system that doesn't go off even if the car was dented, people taking off your wheels, smash your window, children playing ON your car, or a person plays with your door handles? I guess that's you.

Wow if I only knew, I would have gotten that alarm. I'm gonna ask the dealership if I can bring the car back and have them put on the system. Thanks for the information.

yeah the Fit alarm isnt very sensitive at all. and its kind of dissapointing because the fit seems like a car that will be targetted by thieves in a couple of years. I guess aftermarket is the way to go though.

I have that alarm.
worth it, though I've seen little action.
I had it thrown in with the deal.

I was getting into my car this evening, and a Mercedes suv about 10 feet away from me went off. A girl that was about the same distance as me from it was rummaging through her car. We both just looked at it; nothing had touched it and nobody was standing next to it. I think the wind set it off. It was still flashing its lights when I drove away.

BTW, wasn't trying to be nasty on my earlier comment. Everybody has their take on car security systems. For me, I'll just take what the factory give me and take my chances.

Black01, I hope you find what you are looking for.

I think the KARR alarm is a bit overkill and I'm not comfortable w/ adding after market electronics to the default system since it would be a nightmare if it went haywire and caused the car to scream all the time or cut off the engine so you couldnt start your car.

I was duped into the KARR system for $412 when I was basically misled into thinking the car did not have its own alarm. I am going back to the dealership tomorrow to have it removed and money refunded. The vast prices ranges that dealers sell this alarm at shows that it's somewhat of a gimmick. The postcard size documentation also did not spell out any specifications or thresholds for triggering, so it's not good to not know what you just paid extra for.

My own Karr alarm was not sensitive, I tried a few things to get it to go off and it wouldn't-- it probably was not even activated as its such a common last minute ploy they use to add more profit to their bottom line that the little green light may be enough to convince owners that they are better protected and the issue is dropped unless they go and do more research online like I did. It's more of a thing they need for thier own lots but I'm taking my chances.

I do not think Fits will be hot cars to steal they are not worth as much as other Hondas or luxery cars , they are afterall economy cars, albeit classy ones.

I also use an old school thick double prong glaring yellow club on the steering wheel, if that on top of the factory alarm doesnt deter them then nothing will!

exactly, unless you have an aftermarket headunit. there are plenty of other expensive cars to target

im not sure how this alarm works has anyone tryed to set it with somone sitting in the car? and trying to open the doors from the inside when locked? or is this system wired to the seat sensors if somone is in the car it will not arm? or what if somone smashes your window and jumps through your window to get what thay want will the seat sensors set off the alarm? dose anyone know anything about this im sure the dealers shit dosent know anything you would have to ask somone with honda tech exp.
