Painted my Badges BOM :3

So I got the idea from FitFreak's gallery. Some other BOM at a show had orange badges. I fell in love. So I had some paint made for me. in fact 3/4 of a pint and a full spray can. And set out about 5 hours today to get up to par.
Surprisingly the only step I took was using some degreaser and crap tons of painters tape and an xacto. :3

Heres the befores, durings, and afters. comments appreciated (sry taken with a craptastic sony ericsson phone)

btw not my foot, though definately my overkill of painters tape and nonpermeable paper

At the least I would've just removed the two screws on the top of the mani cover and removed that since it's so easy but it still turned out good though. I'm really diggin' the color matched "H" too... wonder how that'd look on VBP.....

That looks great for DIY!
How does it compare up close to the factory finish? I mena it's not like you couls do the clear coat or whatever is on the actual car.
If it's that easy I'm going to start hitting some parts myself too!

As above, how/where do you get the factory paint in a spray can? Dealer provide that?

oh man. thanks for the feedback guys
the reason I didnt take off the badge is because I realized it could be applied well at the angle it was located.
..aaaand because I was scared to remove the badge, the only DIY I found told me to remove the grill u__u ,turns out it was wrong.

I had the color matched at a specialty auto paint store, 30 for a pint and a can. exact match too! I literally just got a factory touch up pen, wasn't even as good IMHO as the paint I had made for the badge. the hardest part was taping it off, but I can thank my lovely gf for that. and her dad helped apply 4 layers for the engine cover, and 3 for the badge. no clear coat, no primer. just engine de-greaser to remove that slimey factory engine coat.

all in all about 5 hours and fitloads of love. next step rear badge(black negative, BOM over chrome)

btw arisen it would look so sly on a VBP. I'd definitely go for it. :3

Slick my friend, very slick. I really like my badge the way it is, but I've been drooling over the engine covers lately. May have to get to that some day.

WOW! the emblem looks a ton better that what I was expecting. I was thinking the matching color would look cheap, but it looks really spot on. Like it belongs.

I am diggin the engine cover too, it makes it pop, and I like how you didn't paint over the whole thing. It looks pretty slick that way. Nice job

I am repping you +1 for an interesting/simple/effective mod!

yeah theres a few i've seen with the type r badges.
not very original though*no offense to those who bought em*

theres a jazz purple, that would look rly sick. i believe the fit models even received a different shade of purple.
i think the 8th gen civic fiji blue's would be awesome though.
i guess im just a sucker for color coordination
hm next step orange stage one turbo? x3
no but srsly next step chamber intake

They turned out alot better then i would have thought. As soon as i saw the first pic and all the paper and tape i thought disaster but you def proved me wrong. It looks very nice and im pretty impressed that you spent all that time to tape it all. haha. Again nice pretty original job. Take some pics of the rear when you are finished with that as well.
