What sold you on the Fit?
What sold you on the Fit?
For me it was the magic seats
I think it's the best interior innovation to come along ever since whatever the last best interior innovation to come along was. And, I'm a sucker for clever and thoughtful design ideas.

now i really want to go find a MT Fit to test drive. i've test driven it only once so far (first time there were none around at the dealer to even test drive, second time they only had an AT). i can't believe how excited i am about the magic seats but i truly am. i spent like 10 minutes playing w/it at the autoshow, trying out the refresh mode (which btw is there a trick to doing it because i couldn't figure out how to do it w/o an extra pair of hands).
when i test drove my fit, i didnt say "wow, what a great car" i said to myself. "this car has alot of potential" and ive been trying to make it live up to my expectations. so far so good.
i actually never test drove it before i bought it.
i just said, there is a forum full of people who own this car.
and this car looks different from everyone elses car.
i want to be one of the only clean ons in my area.
so i said, good platform to start with

I bought one because I needed a new car that got great gas mileage and I would enjoy driving. Plus I saw so many in Japan that I knew I wanted one as soon as I got back to the states. Plus my Civic can't be registered as a "normal" car anymore.
It was the best "all rounder" that I could find. I also really wanted to stick to a Honda. But in all actuality its plain and simple just an incredibly versatile vehicle and I couldnt get away from that. I cant say (with a couple good exceptions) that it's the best at any one thing, it just does a great deal many things very well, and that's a winner in my book.
I am kinda with kelsodeez in that I didn't really go "wow". But I knew from the obnoxious amount of time and research I invested into this car and many others that it would be a car that would probably adapt well to my particular needs. And it is continuing to do so
.
I would have been a proud owner of a new Mini if-
1) I didn't already have plans for a classic mini later on
2) It was just a smidgeon more reliable
3) it didn't run on premium gas (or marketed to be)
4) I could honestly justify the price for the "S"
5) it was as versatile in capacity as the Fit
6) I could get into the clubby/estate (wagon version) of it.
7) had the estate version been out longer
8)...errr I think thats it
I unfortunately do have to add that "if" I was not stripped of my 7th gen civic coupe by a bastard of a careless driver I would have not considered selling it for a fit. As what it offered over the Fit was a bit addicting, even though the Fit is more versatile.

(repetitions)
Small exterior, spacious interior, luggage room (I gots a lot of dorm stuff :-p), gas mileage (I'm averaging a good 5mpg better than my old 06 Civic EX AT), looks, being a Honda, awesome manual transmission, inexpensive to buy, inexpensive upkeep, affordable aftermarket, handles like a champ (man, I should get the Progress rear sway!) There's more, but that's a good chunk of it there.

My buddy came back from Japan with pics of a jdm Fit before they were released here and I loved the looks.
I love VBP but not a big fan of the EP3 body so the Fit was perfect
Got married and want a family and my Mirage was in no way capable of being a family car.
Its a Honda so it will retain value.
Nobody in my area has a modified Fit and I like standing out in the crowd.
Pretty much it for me.

I was driving a VW Golf that was costing thousands to fix every time it broke down, and I needed a new car. I did the research, and CONSUMER REPORTS and CAR AND DRIVER both suggested the Fit strongly enough for me to take a look.
I was impressed by the reliability, the nice price point, it was unique, and it was easy and fun to drive. I test drove it, and it just felt right. I'll also say the sales person was the best I dealt with.
