Exclamation can't believe this guy?!?!?

okay so i'm on edmunds.com today and i ran across this review of the fit. i'll also post the link so you all can see it for yourselves. but i cant believe what i'm hearing. someone please tell me this guy has no idea what he's talking about! i just bought an 08' fit and wife and i are expecting good things. here it is:

Vehicle 2008 Honda Fit Sport 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5A) Review I was excited to get the fit but disappointed when I realized it maxed out at 35 mpg. In reality I'm getting 25 mpg and I drive mostly on the HWY. I hear this will get better in time. Right now Honda is purposefully not making many Fits to drive demand. Most dealerships are charging an additional 1500 to every car because of this false demand Honda is creating. Also the Fit does not come with floor mats. When you buy them you can't just lay them down but you need to cut into the floor of the car. What were they thinking with that???!!! Overall I do like the fit. It's fun to drive and looks cool in my opinion. Its a Honda so I trust it will be reliable. Time will tell. Favorite Features Fun to Drive Lots of Room (I can fit both bikes in the back) Good Performance on HWY I like the Suggested Improvements 1) Arm Rest 2) Seats Fabric Current Fabric on Seats collect lint really easily. 3) Include the floor Mats and install them. 4) Improved MPG shouldn't be so hard on a car that small. 5) Don't create false demand. That's not a nice way to treat your customers Honda.

everyone will have their own opinions. I constantly avg 36-37mpg with my best tank being 41mpg... THIS IS WITH A SUPERCHARGER!!!!! You dont have to cut the carpet for the matts, i didnt with mine. No False demand.

Ive never heard of "False demand"...EVER!
I think that guy is full of BS when it comes to that. They are straight from Japan, thats why there is not alot of them. He probaly does not know that.
Also 25MPG on the HWY? Sounds like he must have been doing a steady 100mph to get that bad?

1. They're not selling many because it's the last year before the G2's come overseas.
2. If he's getting 25mpg mostly highway, he must be stomping on that pedal.

*sigh*

... Ok well the whole false demand thing. Isn't that obvious. All companies don't create enough of the product to meet the demands of everyone that way they can make more money. There isn't many companies that don't do this. IE... Sony ps3 microsoft xbox 360 nintendo wii. There is much more.

lol i may be the few that agree with him on gas millage however, it could be due to the small tank that makes the fit seem more thirsty for gas then it actully is. but yea... sicne i have turbo i dont think i really count. but I barly get over 300km/tank

They didn't anticipate having to make as many as they're selling. It's not entirely false demand. There's also some talk that they're looking at building them in the states at the new 4-cylinder plant. Not only does that put jobs in the American economy in times of a recession (*cough* Domestics *cough*) but it also allows them to keep up with demand HERE.

Besides, 5 factories. 70 countries. 5 factories. 70 countries. FIVE factories. SEVENTY countries. Somebody, somewhere ain't getting enough of something.

whatever the demand is for the fit, it's definitely becoming more in demand.

last fall i'd see about 1 fit every 10 days.

now i see a fit almost every day.

lol this car is not an exotic. why would a manufacture make false
demand when they know they can make more money (essentially wat
honda only cares about at the end for cars in this bracket) by selling
more volume?

mpg... either the dude needs more vitamins to lower his anxioty level
or go on a diet.

dang jdmchris, gas mileage has actually improved? Last i read with the supercharger there was a 3% or so fall off. But i'd be intersted in getting the supercharger just for the increase in economy

Floor Mats

If you follow the OEM floor mat installation instructions, they do say to cut into the insulation to expose the holes for the mat clips. However I found perforated "slits" in the stock carpet where the clips were to be installed, and the clips coupled with the perforated folds in the stock carpet cover up any insulation removed during the installation. Personally I would rather cut into my own car rather then have the dealership or someone else do it.

This is a nice installation to do on a sunny afternoon with a beer in hand

tops to do all 4.

the rear i just did the hooks at the rear part. the front side wont go
anywhere because of the front seat rails.

Everyone has a posterior and an opinion. My wife's Fit AT gets around 30 Mpg mostly in town driving and has about 10,000 miles. She really wanted a Vespa, but with two kids and three dogs the Fit was a better choice for errands to the grocery store, school, and kids activities. She loves it!
