That is around what I get in my MT, so I think you are doing well.

35 is good man. I only get 30-31 because there's a lot of stupid hills my Fit has to climb up and down to and from on my daily commute. Some people even get less! Take your 35mpg and enjoy the ride.

What mpg were you expecting? There may be things you can do to improve on what you are currently getting.

I just calculated mine yesterday.

I am thrilled with my 35 mpg (US) in stop and go city traffic climbing the Niagara escarpment daily!

35mpg is GOOD! I'd love to average 35mpg. You're already in the higher range of 'average' overall economy for the Fit. If you want to try to get more, there may be a few things you can try, if you're not already doing them:

First, though -

MAINTENANCE. Be sure your air cleaner is changed at regular intervals. With 18k on the ticker, you should have already changed yours once. (I think the interval is 15k miles).

Make sure your oil is in good health. Change it at regular intervals.

Have your alignment checked and adjusted if needed.

Properly inflate your tires. In fact, OVERinflate them. Search around, some people are running 40+psi. I'm running 38psi. The ride does feel a bit more rough and can be a bit more noisy, but you lower rolling resistance. Monitor the tire pressure! Check it every week!

Coast IN GEAR. With the AT, it has been verified that coasting in gear to a stop cuts fuel to the engine until it gets to ~1000RPM. Downshift with the paddles to keep the revs above 1000RPM for as long as you can.

Use your AC as SPARINGLY as possible. Run the lowest fan speed and back off of the temperature as comfort allows.

Anyway, you're doing good already! Maybe you can get a bit more!

If you want to improve your mpg then I suggest the following:

- inflate tires to 50psi
- drive slower, like 5-10mph under the speed limit, 5mph under is easy to do.
- accelerate slower from a stop that is.
- coast in neutral as much as possible
- act like you don't have breaks by looking ahead and guestimate future driving conditions
- draft

Why do you expect more? 35-38 is what they advertised, and higher than a lot of people's, especiall for an automatic.
